Thank you for taking the time to pray about the new Word ministry option for us. The Papua New Guinea field council took the time to discuss our request to do Pidgin translation work, with the ABWE Word ministry, with us being based in the USA, in their recent meeting. They decided that this ministry can only be done by someone within the county of Papua New Guinea. Thus, we are not the people to do this ministry for them. We believe that God has heard and answered our prayers. We know that He always answers with what is best for our lives. We will continue on in our Home Ministry assignment of reporting to our supporters.

Labor Day Greetings 2015 from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

We hope that your Labor Day was enjoyable and safe. We spent the weekend with a group of people from a church that has supported us for 21 years.

September is a big month for us in decisions that will be made about our future ministry. We need for you to please pray about this.

As many of you know, we voted with our ABWE Papua New Guinea (PNG) field council to close the aviation program. This decision was made due to lack of personnel to run that ministry. An airplane has many costs associated with it, even if the airplane is not flown. Our ABWE Aviation Administrator decided that it was time to sell the airplane. So, we sold the airplane in February 2014.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support during our home ministry. According to ABWE records, we are about $840 per month under supported. God will provide for all of our need. Please add this to your prayer list.

We have begun our travels following Steve’s recovery from his carpal tunnel syndrome surgery, on both of his hands. He is still experiencing some pain and numbness in his right hand. Thankfully, the surgery was to prevent this from getting worse. The doctor wants to do more nerve testing due to the continued numbness.

Daily, we meet people wherever we go. We are ready to ask them life’s most important question, “If you died right now, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven?” We have a supply of these small tracts from Macedonia Gospel Publication that shows them how they can know for sure. If we are faithful in sowing and watering, God will give the increase. What plan have you used this week to share your faith in Christ with others?

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support of our ministry.  We are faithfully serving the Lord here in Raytown, Missouri.

Steve began physical therapy on his right hand two weeks ago Friday.  He had his carpal tunnel syndrome surgery on his left hand last week Wednesday.  Steve was wheeled in for his surgery at 8:30 and woke up in the recovery room at 9:15.

Sandy and I rejoice in what God is doing in and through each of our lives. We are so grateful to be a part of your ministry in reaching the lost and building Christ’s church in Papua New Guinea. You continually demonstrate your loving kindness as you reach outside of you circle of influence and make a difference in the world for the Lord.

We are thankful and humbled by your love for Christ to the people of Papua New Guinea. Your love has been expressed through your continual prayers and steadfast financial giving to support the work of Christ through us. God put His love in our hearts that has overflowed into the lives of the people of Papua New Guinea for over twenty years. This love has been multiplied many times over. We see this same love flow from the hearts of our national brothers and sisters in Christ and into their families and friends.

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10–12).

God sent a Saviour [Jesus] to earth and He was crucified on a cross. This is the good news that we have been sharing all these years. Some have chosen not to believe and will perish, but others believe and are saved. “The preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).

We once again want to thank you for your faithful prayers and financial giving. Some plant, some water, but it is God who continues giving the increase.

Steve was invited to preach at Hosana Baptais Sios (Hosanna Baptist Church) two weeks ago. As he was speaking, Steve noticed that one man had tears running down his face.

During the invitation, the man raised his hand that he needed to confess his sins to God and accept Jesus Christ’s payment for his sin, death on the cross, so that his sins would be forgiven. The pastor asked Steve to take him into the pastor’s study for counseling.

We have seen God slowly closing the door on our missionary aviation ministry here, over the past two terms. At first, we wondered what was going on. However, it became very evident what God was doing.

God has always provided 100% of what we needed. Thank you all for faithfully standing with us through your prayers and sacrificial financial giving.

The table is set. The candles are lit. What is the special occasion? Thirty-one hours without electricity. No warnings – just a shut-down for maintenance. This plunges three provinces into blackout. The electricity is now off again for 13 hours. The problem has been found – misappropriation of funds. Papua New Guinea – Land of the Unexpected. Oh yea! Today is Independence Day for Papua New Guinea.

During the time of waiting for the biopsy report, God gave us peace. Our body belongs to God and it is His choice as to what happens with our bodies. Our desire is to glorify God in our body, and in our spirit, which are God’s [1 Corinthians 6:20]. Sandy was given the peace to leave the field if necessary.

We received an email reply about the histopathology report on the mole that was removed from Steve’s right posterior flank. The doctor started off stating that there was bad news and good news.

The bad news was that the specimen removed was superficial spreading malignant melanoma.
