Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

We are doing well. Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. Twenty years ago today is when we first arrived in Papua New Guinea to begin our first four year term of service.

How are you all doing with your New Year resolutions? We came up with a list that we are working on:

  • Less TV – More Prayer
  • Be sensitive about idle talk and moral excellence
  • Be more patient with each other
  • Be spirit filled in all that we do
  • Be a better witness for Christ
  • Display the fruit of the Spirit through our lives
  • Follow through on a job to completion
  • Keep learning
  • Balance activities
  • Do everything in love

Steve is waiting to hear from the hand surgeon. The nerve testing shows that Steve has carpal tunnel on both hands. His right hand will be done first. The tests indicated that Steve may have some permanent nerve damage to his right hand. Steve will be glad to get some relief from the many sleepless nights that this ongoing problem has caused, since April 2014. Please pray that this surgery will be successful.

Steve had his first prison inmate counseling session last week Monday. This ministry opportunity came up unexpectedly. Thank you for your prayers about this possible new ministry.

We received a message from one of the neighbor boys in Papua New Guinea, who we have been mentoring. He shared that three of the guys, who we have been praying for their salvation, were saved at the ABWE Youth Camp last week. There were a total of 54 salvation decisions. Please pray for their discipleship and learning – that this fruit would remain and will bring forth more fruit. Please pray specifically for Manuel Morris to say yes to the Holy Spirit. There is something that has been holding him back for some months now. Please pray that individuals will allow the Holy Spirit to work in their life.

Brenda is a young lady who Sandy was encouraging to take over the work of challenging girls to stay pure. Brenda taught some purity sessions at camp. She had the privilege of leading four girls to salvation in Christ. Please pray that these individuals will be followed-up on and that the decisions that they made remain firm.

God answered prayer about our grandson’s ears. He had 40% hearing loss and the doctor was considering surgery. When they went back to the doctor, his hearing was back to normal. Praise the Lord!

Please pray for our granddaughter. She is having extended problems with inflammation in her throat. Please pray also for her to be able to catch-up on her reading now that her eye issues have been resolved.

Thank you for your continued prayers for each of us as we go through medical procedures and therapy sessions. We praise the Lord for the good health reports that we have received so far.

Please also pray for Zeke and Meagan Magill. They have recently arrived in Papua New Guinea and both of their boys have broken out with chicken pox.

In Christ’s love,
Steve and Sandy
