Dealing with the Diagnosis

Priorities

What is amazing is how quickly your priorities get corrected when you get a serious diagnosis!

All of a sudden, it doesn’t really matter if you have a big house or if you are 5 pounds overweight. Who cares if you look like a supermodel? The small worries you had yesterday are suddenly tossed aside. These thoughts are replaced with – How are your relationships with those you love? What have you done that will last? The latter become far more important than your “to do” list. That is because we all want to do things that count for eternity.

Maybe you haven’t been spending much time with God in prayer or Bible study. When you are faced with circumstances you cannot control, time with the Lord is critical.

The loveliness of our Lord would rest upon us and confirm the work that we do. (Psalm 90:17)

In the day of trouble, I will call to you for you will answer me. (Psalm 86:7)

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)
