August 2018

Dear Praying friends and family, I began an update to send out BEFORE I went to Alaska to visit Renee, Bryan, Keenan, Thaddeus, Shand, Talia and Ezekiel, but was awaiting the birth of my SECOND great grandson – Camdyn-John, who arrived 10 days “passed the expected date” – and on the morning I flew out,Continue reading August 2018

April 2018

Dear praying friends,                 Below is an email I received from Jason Stuart this morning.  It has been nearly 19 years since there has been a missionary living at Samou with the Owininga people,  The Lord strengthened them, grown them, encouraged them and undertaken for them, and many times Jason has remarked how he hasContinue reading April 2018

October 2017

Dear praying friends,

October already, and it has been awhile since I have written. Sorry! I don’t function as well when it is COLD, and we have had a L-O-N-G, cold winter.

July 2017

Dear praying friend,

It has been awhile since I wrote, and I do thank you for those who prayed for Aisak as he and his family journeyed with the Lord in Aisak’s eventual going home to be with his Lord and Saviour.

I want to share with you an email I just received this morning, and appreciate your continued prayers for Aisak’s widow and family:

March 7, 2017

Dear Family and Friends,

50 years ago today, I walked down the aisle to wed my best friend and sweetheart. It has been a day full of sweet memories as I have reminisced and thought back over the years Doug and I had together, the joy and privilege of serving the Lord together in Papua New Guinea, for 33 of those years, then 6 years in Cairns. God is GOOD….

August 2016

Dear friends and family,

Well, I have actually been home for nearly 2 weeks…  it has been COLD…  and I don’t function TOO well when it is so cold!!!  I thoroughly enjoyed and made the most of the 100 degrees F I experienced in the States, knowing I was coming back to a cold winter.

I do thank the Lord for travelling mercies..   a number of unforeseen things happened…  like the plane out of Sydney being 6 hours late into Dallas, and therefore we all missed out connecting flights, and I was ONLY on standby (with American Airlines), the next morning,  while the Bagley family had a confirmed flight on Delta..   leaving from different terminals…  and arriving at different terminals in Detroit…   and travelling without a telephone..  yes, it was interesting, but all ended well.

April 21, 2016

Dear Friends and Family,

Well, back in the West….. last night the girls and I had dinner together, thinking of our dear husband and father who was promoted to heaven two years ago.

The flight from Cairns to Perth, Tuesday night, was FULL… and I was in the very last row… quite ‘squished’… but we arrived home safely, and always thankful to have my feet on ‘terra firma’… and Rhesa was there at the airport to meet and greet me… and had my car in the parking lot to drive myself home.

HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Sending special greetings at this Easter Season. Thanking God for each of you, and SO-O-O-O thankful that we serve a Risen Saviour, who is interested in every aspect of our lives, and given us ALL that we need, day by day.

Well, 9 weeks of my 12 weeks of this visit to PNG have already gone. God is amazing, in that He not only brought me here at this time, but He also opened up an opportunity to attend the Sepik Conference last week. Blessing upon blessing and I have much for which to praise His Name. During the week in Wewak, I was referred to as “the matriarch of the Sepik”….. does that mean I am OLD???

February 2016

Dear praying family and friends,

Well, I have been back here in PNG for 10 days…. They have been fun days, and learning days, growing days, and special days. Today is one of those special days, as I remember our wedding 49th years ago.

As I sit here putting finger tips to the keyboard I have some lovely music playing. “Through it ALL”, one of Doug’s testimony songs, and now “Bless The Lord of My Soul”. I have so very much for which to be thankful.

December 31, 2015

To my dear friends and family,

Just want to wish you all a very Happy New Year. What will this new year bring for each one of us??

I do trust God will give you and yours a year full of blessing and awareness of His presence and direction. I am pretty excited to share with you that I have been invited to visit Papua New Guinea for 3 months and help in the guest house at Lapilo (where the NTM have the school for missionaries, some 14 kms from the township of Goroka).

December 2015

Dear Friends and Family,

CHRISTMAS

A time to warmly remember those who touch our lives in so many special ways…. A time to tell you, that you are fondly remembered, cherished and loved, today, and all year through.

November 2015

Dear Praying friends,

It has been awhile since I wrote – just want you to know that I am doing OK, and praising the Lord for His undertaking in many things.

Yesterday, I walked in the annual Chaplathon… raising $’s for the school chaplains. I thank the Lord that I continue to keep well, and am able to do this. I continue to go out to David and Roxanne’s each week, and walk their three children to school, and I am glad for the opportunity to attend their school assemblies. Early October, Zachariah celebrated his 7th birthday… we have 4 birthdays during November.

August 18, 2015

Dear Friends and Family,

Just been sitting here reminiscing, as it is two years today, since Doug and I moved into this lovely home.  I have been home from my trip to the States, just one week.  It has been a good time of catching up with my girls, and the grand children…  celebrated Roxanne’s birthday, and having a farewell for Raylea.

August 11, 2015

Dear praying friends and family,

Well, here I am back in Perth… I know communication was sparse these past 9 weeks, but utilizing my email addresses from an USB wasn’t streamline. However, flights and connections, times with friends and family were full of blessing and I was so very encouraged with great fellowship, good messages at the churches I was able to attend, have a host of photos to wade through for my scrap booking memories, and thankful in each aspect of the trip.

May 2015

Dear Friends and Family,
IT has been a few weeks since I mentioned a possible return to P.N.G. As of this point of time, i will not be going to P.N.G. THIS YEAR… One of the main reasons I was praying about heading up that way was to home school a couple of young children. Someone younger has offered to cover that need, so for now, I am focusing on a trip to the States to visit friends, supporters and Renee, Bryan and family.
I leave early June, and fly direct Perth, Sydney, Dallas… I am SO excited to visit friends – some I haven’t seen for scores of years… and others, not so long… from Texas, I go across to Denver, Colorado, and up to Sterling for a Missions weekend, then across to Salt Lake City, UTAH… next will be Florida, at and/or near the NTM headquarters.

April 2015

Dear praying friends,

Thinking of you and thanking God for you, your friendship and prayers.

Since returning from the Philippines, I have kept myself quite busy, involved in a number of different activities.

This past week, another ‘first’ – Doug’s birth date… how we all continue to miss him, but, rejoice knowing He is in a better place.

January 26, 2015

Dear friends and family,

I’m back!

Thank you to all who wrote or called and said you were praying for the trip. It was 16 fun and busy days. I especially enjoyed gathering a little language and some Pilipino culture during the two weeks of building accommodation for the pastor and his family, attached to a church that the team built last year. We were very warmly received, and looked after remarkably well, and fed delicious Pilipino food, along with a couple of Pizza Hut and MacDonald meals. The project progressed even further than was expected… with members of the church left to put in the windows and doors, finish the plastering and paint. We are praising the Lord for safety on the project, safety in all the travel, and the special time with the youth. There were a few times of fun and fellowship and opportunities to have input into their lives. The weather was mild – only two really hot days, and the very windy rainy days (we were on the edge of a typhoon), came on the weekends. I had an opportunity the first day to give my testimony in the church service, and then gave the devotions at the mid week meeting, the 2nd week.

November 18, 2014

Dear Friends,

I guess it has been awhile since I wrote. Life has been busy, especially with family get togethers. In Mid-October we had a wonderful family Christmas. A big roast dinner and gift exchange with all 27 or us here. Many birthdays to celebrate and we are using any excuse to spend time with Bryan, Renee and 5 children before they return to Alaska. The countdown has begun. Earlier this month, we celebrated Heidi-anne’s 21st birthday with a delightful “High Tea”… this weekend, we are celebrating Bryan’s 40th birthday, and Robbie Jayelle’s 16th birthday, then we have an “Open House” all afternoon, for people to come and say “Good Bye” to the Morris family who fly out the next day. The same week is James’ 22nd birthday. How grateful I am for my family, who have been constantly in my life and helping will my days.

August 11, 2014

Dear praying friends,

I know this is long overdue, which could mean this could become an epistle instead of a note…

I was laying abed ‘thinking’ – it is 33 years today, when Doug and I were in our village home, and I went into labour with our youngest, Roxanne. Doug had a deep gash on his foot, from an injury sustained in the village, PLUS he had gone to bed the night before with an attack of malaria, when I announced around 3.30am that my waters had broken!! As with everything before him, Doug “rose to the occasion” and delivered Roxanne safely, albeit that she was breach, and the cord broke before her head delivered. Dr Doug managed EVENTUALLY to get the baby to breathe, and we continually thank the Lord for His undertaking.

June 7, 2014

Dear praying friends,

It is just over 6 weeks since Doug finished with the pain and suffering, and entered into his rest in Heaven, and now, after a great 3 + weeks away, I am home and facing reality. An empty house and winter coming.

The Lord gave me such a lovely time as I travelled. One week in Cairns, 10 days in PNG, and then 4 days in Brisbane. ALL the way, there was glorious sunny, warm days, with lots of lovely fellowship. I didn’t take a computer with me – hence the silence from my part of the world.
In Cairns I had time to rest and recoup…

May 2014

Dear praying friends,

It has been over a week now since we celebrated Doug’s life – in style. Thank you for upholding our family in prayer as we prepared, talked, laughed, cried, reminisced … and then as we held the service.
