April 2020

Dear family and friends, Greetings to you from the Hulls in Sanford, Florida. The COVID-19 situation has affected us here in central Florida. I will explain that  after giving a few statistics about our state, our county, as well as the city of Sanford.

March 2020

Dear family and friends, Greetings to you! This morning I spent some time considering what we have seen God doing in the past few weeks and months. What a wonderful exercise! I will share a few blessings with you.

Dear family and friends, Brad took this photo of Mr. and Mrs. Sandhill Crane (and their colt), on the property of NTM Homes. We often see sandhill cranes walking in the yards or on the soccer field. They roost at night in shallow water. They perform elaborate dancing displays in courtship and mate for life.Continue reading August 2019

July 2019

Dear family and friends, Greetings in the Name of Jesus! Last week we had 3 visitors from a very special church in Pennsylvania. Brad took them over to our mission headquarters for a tour. They viewed a video of what God is doing around the world as missionaries learn language and culture, teach people toContinue reading July 2019

April 2019

Dear family and friends, Greetings to you in the Name of Jesus! No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots ofContinue reading April 2019

Dear family and friends, “May our thoughts turn often, in our gratitude, to the Lord of harvest— Giver of all good.” (James H. Fillmore, Sr. 1849–1936) Brad and I are GRATEFUL. We have many reasons for this, and I will share a few of those with you.

October 2018

Dear family and friends, “Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.” – St. Francis de Sales

Dear family and friends, “Cemeteries interrupt the finest families. Retirement finds the best employees. Age withers the strongest bodies. With life comes change. But with change comes the reassuring appreciation of heaven’s permanence. “ Max Lucado It’s Not About Me (2004)

June 2018

Dear family and friends, “You thought God was to hear and answer you by making everything straight and pleasant – not so are nations or churches or men and women born; not so is character made. God is answering your prayers in His way.” Missionary Mary Slessor, Mary Slessor of Calabar (1917) Greetings in theContinue reading June 2018

April 2018

Dear family and friends, Greetings in the name of our Risen Savior. Some call the day Easter. I prefer to call it Resurrection Sunday. We serve a risen Savior! We do hope that your day was very special.

February 2018

Dear family and friends,

Prayer raised the dead, parted the Red Sea, caused the sun to stand still, overthrew armies and healed the sick, brought fire from the sky on Elijah’s sacrifice, brought water from the rock and bread from heaven, has paved the way for the conversion of millions of people. God uses the prayers of His people to accomplish His purposes on earth. (From Pathways of Prayer by Dr. David Jeremiah)

We have some needs we would like to mention and humbly ask that you please bring these before the Throne of Grace.

Dear family and friends,

“Wherever you are, be all there. Live life to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.” (Jim Elliot)

Brad and I want to “be all there” wherever God leads us. We both work in the Latham Center. This building was named after Lance (Doc) Latham. In 1942, four men met together and started New Tribes Mission. One of those men was Lance Latham. “New Tribes Mission shall encourage potential candidates for foreign missionary service. They shall be chosen upon evidence that they have a consistent passion for souls, are soul-winners at homes, and have a firm grasp of the fundamental doctrines of the Word of God. New Tribes Mission’s efforts shall be directed toward those fields where no other missionary effort is being made and where no witness of the gospel has yet reached.” The first New Tribes Mission missionaries bound for Bolivia boarded the boat to sail on November 10, 1942. The team consisted of ten adults with six children. By the time they reached their final destination where they were going to be missionaries, they had already led 100 people to the Lord! You can read the complete story in “Founded, the Heritage of Ethnos360”. This was published to celebrate the recent 75th anniversary of New Tribes Mission (1942 – 2017).

Dear family and friends,

“Great occasions for serving God come seldom, but little ones surround us daily.” (Saint Francis de Sales)

Our lives seem to be made up of these little occasions. We are both busy about the Lord’s work as we minister at NTM Homes. We are thankful that many years ago our mission leaders considered building a retirement center for our older missionaries. Our purpose statement reads “NTM Homes exists to provide attractive, affordable, efficient, and economical housing for retired Ethnos360 missionaries. This facility and its staff endeavor to provide a nurturing and caring environment, attempting to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of its residents. “ This really is a wonderful place! It takes a team of people to meet the needs of these senior saints. God has allowed the two of us to play a part on this team.

Dear family and friends,

Hurricane Irma has passed us and is no more. We are all safe here at Ethnos 360 (New Tribes Mission) in Sanford, Florida. We praise and thank the Lord for this.

All of our NTM Homes duplex residents are still without power. This means Brad and me as well. It sounds like we could be without power from 3 to 10 days. We do not yet have phone or internet service. We have a small gas burner, so Brad can make his morning coffee and we can heat up the canned food that we have purchased and have on hand. I made a pan of popcorn last night. Smile We are doing fine.

August 2017

Dear family and friends,

Greetings to you! It is a beautiful sunny afternoon here in central Florida. Brad and I made a trip to Maryland in the middle of June. We were able to visit quite a number of folks as well as visited 3 different churches. We were away from home for 13 days. We are allowed a certain number of days per year for vacation as well as a specific number of days for partnership development. Since we are now on home staff here at NTM Homes, we do not have a time of home assignment (or furlough). Therefore we need to fit a whole lot into each of the days that we are away from our ministry responsibilities.

June 2017

Dear family and friends,

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus! We can say that because His name is so very precious! Jesus is the reason we live and have purpose in this life. He desires to receive all the praise and glory due His name. We are only His servants that He chooses to use, so that He may receive that glory.

May 2017

Dear family and friends,

Greetings from sunny central Florida. Our Headquarters in Sanford, Florida has had a change of address. We have acquired a newer building just a few blocks from the old one. March 31, 2017

Dear family and friends,

Greetings from sunny Florida! As you know, Brad and I live and work at our retirement center for folks who have served as missionaries with New Tribes Mission. Our residents range in age from upper 60’s through 95 years of age, with many in their 80’s and 90’s. I, Wanda have two jobs listed on my name badge, housekeeping and personal care. Our personal care staff, who work in the Assisted Living Facility, all have current Red Cross certification for First Aid and CPR. We regularly have drills for fire, hurricane, and elopement. Patient Elopement is when a resident who is cognitively, physically, mentally, and / or emotionally impaired; wanders away, walks away, escapes, or otherwise leaves a caregiving facility or environment unsupervised, or unnoticed. All of these drills are for the safely of our residents, the training of the staff, and fulfill the requirements as set by the state of Florida.

February 2017

Dear family and friends,

We thank-you for praying for us as we headed north to Ohio to attend my mom’s funeral in January. We felt the Lord’s sustaining grace and comfort as we traveled, met with family and friends, and attended the visitation times and funeral service. We were gone from home for just 7 days, but packed a whole lot into those days. We spent 4 days in the car. On our way home we stopped in Savannah, Georgia to visit with some friends of ours. We did some hiking and sight-seeing in a local state park. Of course, Brad had his camera along and took quite a few photos. Spending time with friends and being able to relax was a good thing after all that we had just been through. It was a blessing to have this time at the end of our trip before returning home and going back to work.
