“We are not only called to evangelize the world, but we are called to build the kingdom everywhere. This means that your work matters to God.” (George Verwer)

Dear family and friends,

It has now been 15 years since we moved to Florida. We arrived from Maryland to Sanford in March of 2011. Not long after our arrival, Brad went right to work in his office in the Latham Center. His job includes among other things: spreadsheets, checking and answering business e-mails every day, and opening a physical mailbox for incoming mail. I know that this is a bit vague, but that is about all I can say in a general email letter.

After arriving here, I spent 4 months doing miscellaneous jobs on the NTM Homes property. This included working in the kitchen and serving meals to the Latham Center residents, washing road signs on the property, doing some weeding for the grounds crew, and documenting receiver numbers on equipment that duplex residents used to receive cable TV. Then I spent 4 years teaching at our mission school located just 2 miles down the road. This included 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade. I have now been part of the housekeeping team in the Latham Center for 11 years.

We have learned to know and love many retirees here on The Homes property. We have heard story after story about missionary work in many countries around the world. We have also said goodbye to friends that we have worked alongside and others that we got to know since moving here. Dan and Becky recently retired after serving as our chaplain. They shared at their retirement party about having 79 memorial services in their 8 years here. These have all been truly celebrations of lives lived for the Lord.

We have both been involved with our Florida church. This includes serving on security, attending men’s Bible studies, teaching kids, participating in women’s Bible studies and events, and being a part of a Sunday evening home group. Our faith family here is near and dear to our hearts.

Wow! This has been quite a journey! It has been totally different from our times in Thailand and Papua New Guinea, but it has been nice to be back in the USA. This means we have been able to be in touch with family and friends through phone calls and visits. We are closer to doctors and dentists. We have reconnected with friends that we got to know when we were in missionary training back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. We have also been able to visit supporting churches in several different states. We are thankful to have the opportunity to attend family events which we really missed when we lived on the other side of the world.

I will close with a few prayer requests.

  • Please pray as we grieve the passing of Brad’s dad as he is now with the Lord.
  • Please pray that we will continue to serve the Lord with the strength that He gives.
  • Please pray as we go to doctor’s visits to attend to our physical needs.
  • Please pray that we will continue to trust Him and follow Him ever so closely day by day.

Amazed by His grace,

Brad & Wanda Hull
