Thank you for your continued prayers for us as we go through this trial together.  Sandy has been a very capable nurse to change the bandages and keep the incision clean. 

God has answered your prayers with Steve having only minimal pain.  One acetaminophen every 6 hours is giving the pain relief that is required.

This coming Friday Steve will go back to the doctor to have the 14 stiches removed.  The 20+ inner ones will dissolve in about six weeks. 

Thanks so much for your prayers as we wait for the biopsy report from Australia.  We have so much work to do on whatever road that God decides to direct us.

1. Please pray for Priscilla who is very sick with delirium and insomnia. She is the wife of Pastor Matthew Taku who is working in the Bundi area. They are in a very remote bush location with no road and no medical post near them. Please pray that Jehovah-Rapha – the God who heals – will do just that in Priscilla’s life. Their son, Ishmael, called yesterday morning in desperation not knowing what to do to help his mom and dad. Praise the LORD for cell phones and His answer to the prayers of His people.

We arrived back safely on Wednesday night here in Goroka. Thank you for your prayers for us. Praise the Lord! Give Him the glory – great things He hath done.

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support. The incision, on the inside of Steve’s left arm just above the thumb and wrist, is healed. The doctor says that the pain should be gone after 6 weeks. So, Steve should not even know that he had surgery after that time. It is healing according to plan.

God has answered your prayers. Cyclone Ita decreased in strength from category 5 to category 4 and to category 3 by the time it struck land. Thank you for praying and thank you God for answering, “Yes!”

There has been minimal property damage thus far. It is still a category 1 cyclone as it moves down the coast, coming in our direction. The type of rain that we have been getting reminds us of the rains that we often get in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.

Steve had his first surgery this afternoon. We arrived at 10:30 AM and finally were seen at 4 PM. We were the last procedure of the day. Prophecy was fulfilled today. The first shall be last. That is exactly what happened today. We were the first ones to check-in and the last ones to be seen. Praise the LORD that we were able to use that as an inroad to witness for Christ’s love and forgiveness.

Rejoice with us about the report that we got from the doctor today. The doctor said that he could not find anything wrong with Steve’s right rotator cuff today. God has answered prayer again. Praise the Lord! The doctor said that Steve has been working too hard repeatedly. This has not allowed any time for natural healing to take place.

Steve called yesterday afternoon to confirm our flight for this morning and he was told that the flight was cancelled.  We were rescheduled for the early morning flight.
 
Readjusting our schedules this morning, with the help of Steve and Gretchen Root to assist us, got us on the morning flight.  We arrived safely at our destination around 7 PM this evening.

Thank you for praying and giving! God provided 100% support for Steve and Gretchen Root. They plan to arrive here in Goroka mid-March.

Thank you for praying for Phil and Jan Smith. They arrived and had a fully scheduled two week survey trip. They are back in the USA now continuing to raise their financial support.

May God’s richest blessings be upon your family and you during this holiday season! Sometimes God’s working is not clear. However, His love for us is clearly expressed in His giving us His Son, Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

We thank the Lord, and you, for allowing us to be here in Papua New Guinea (PNG). This February 3rd will mark 23 years that we have been with ABWE mission. We carefully follow God’s call daily, looking unto Jesus [the author and finisher of our faith]. Without Him, we can do nothing! Your faithfulness in giving allows us to fulfill our labor for Christ in bringing forth more fruit (John 15:5).

Dear Praying Friends and Supporters,

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and financial support.  We continue to see people yield their lives to Christ almost weekly for salvation.

We were challenged recently, by Steven Mayo our new Asia Pacific Administrator with ABWE, to seek those daily who need to know about Christ and where they will spend eternity.  It is easy to find one, two or more people daily who we can ask, “The Bible speaks of eternity.  Where will you spend eternity?”  Two easy lines, but they have an inner searching impact on people.  Most have a look of anticipation on their face.  We can then share with them that Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No man comes to the Father but by me.  Believe what God’s Word says and obey it!”  Why not try it yourself – if you are not witnessing for Christ already?  The Holy Spirit of God will do His work in the process of saving people from an eternity in Hell.

We rejoice in the Lord that you all pray for us and support us. You are a part of the fruit that is being harvested and the lives that are being changed here in Papua New Guinea (PNG). This report is a little long, but God is doing great things that we want you to know about – for His glory!

Finally, we had a pause in the rain to be able to get the Thomas container sent off to America. The truck was not able to get into our property because everything was so wet and muddy. Due to medical reasons, the Aaron and Stephanie Thomas family were required to depart the PNG field and move back to Columbus, OH. Doing the final packing and making all of the arrangements for shipping the container has been no little task. Please pray for the safe arrival of their belongings as they travel by ship for the next several weeks and their final delivery in Columbus, OH.
