Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt back in Papua New Guinea (PNG),

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial giving. God continues to give the increase of fruit for our labors together for Christ.

We arrived back safely on Wednesday night here in Goroka. Thank you for your prayers for us. Praise the Lord! Give Him the glory – great things He hath done.

Steve is healing well from his surgery and will continue physiotherapy for a few more weeks. The pain is a little less every day. Thank you for your prayers for his complete healing.

Tony, one of the guys that we have been discipling, came to us with some great news. His Uncle Willie has trusted Christ as his Saviour. Tony has also led one of his grade 10 classmates to the Lord. He told us the story of how important his daily quiet time has been in his life.

Mackey is another guy who came to greet us. He thanked us for providing him a copy of a Word of Life Quiet Time Diary. It was exciting to see his aunt sitting in the church service Sunday morning. She has not been in church for over a decade. Please continue in prayer for this important ministry – sharing our faith in Christ with others. Without faith it is impossible to please Him!

Soma, is another girl who we have been mentoring, brought a lady [Sandra] to church with her that she met, who is a store owner in town. The lady asked if we had an English Bible that she could read. We were able to give her an English copy of a Bible that we got for free in Australia. Pray that Sandra will trust Christ as her Saviour soon.

We begin back with the Religious Instruction classes on Tuesday morning at 9 AM. That is Monday evening at 6 PM Eastern Time. We will also resume transporting the hearing impaired students to and from class every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Steve and Gretchen Root have been filling in for these two responsibilities during our absence. We praise the Lord for their addition to our Field Council here.

Steve and Gretchen have been working hard to complete the Tok Pisin language course. They are almost finished. Please pray for them as they begin their new ministries here at Goroka Baptist Bible College (GBBC).

Rich and Marcia Ernst have arrived just in time to begin teaching classes at GBBC. They have returned from retirement to help out during a time when the teaching staff is critically low.

One of our newest appointees to Papua New Guinea, Tim Hawes, got married on Saturday. Please pray for the following:
Tim and Leandra Hawes as they begin their lives together
Safety in their travels and in their preparations to come to PNG
Finishing raising the financial support necessary to labor for Christ here in PNG

Ezekiel and Meagan Magill (also Liam and Matthew) are hoping to arrive here in PNG later this year. They are in the Pennsylvania area and looking for short-term housing before their departure to PNG. Please pray for the following:
Health for their family as much needs to get done prior to their planned departure
Short-term housing around the Lebanon, PA area until later this year (if you have any leads please contact us right away)

The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to send forth more labourers. Remember, when you pray, to ask God how you can be an answer to this prayer request.

In Christ’s love,
Steve and Sandy
