Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

God has answered your prayers. Cyclone Ita decreased in strength from category 5 to category 4 and to category 3 by the time it struck land. Thank you for praying and thank you God for answering, “Yes!”

There has been minimal property damage thus far. It is still a category 1 cyclone as it moves down the coast, coming in our direction. The type of rain that we have been getting reminds us of the rains that we often get in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.

It rained all through the night and we began to get more heavy wind and rain at 10:15 this morning. We are safe and dry.

The main eye of the storm will pass through this area within the next three hours with gale force winds. Much of the sugar cane crops have been ruined with flooding and winds have flattened much of it.

Steve has been able to go all day with no pain from his surgery. We will be changing the dressing, for the first time since the surgery, this evening.

Please pray for our coworkers in Papua New Guinea. As Jesus said, “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Luke 10:2

Thank you for praying. We just heard today that Ezekiel and Meagan Magill have 85% of their support. They are now in the final processes prior to departing for Papua New Guinea.

Listening for the trump and praying,
Steve and Sandy Aholt
