Greetings to you in 2024 from Steve and Sandy Aholt!

Our gratitude is boundless for your prayers and financial contributions during our retirement. We could not do it without you. Thank you for believing in us and our mission to make a positive impact in the lives of others, for the glory of God.

One percent more, in ’24! This is the challenge that our pastor presented to the church. One percent does not sound like very much. Here are a few examples of 1% more to challenge YOU in ’24!

Just 14.4 minutes is 1% of each day. One of my goals for this year is to get into the habit of 5 minutes more of prayer, in the morning, at noon, and at night. Just 1% more of my time giving thanks before my God each day. We have this example in Daniel (Daniel 6:10).

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Just 14.4 minutes of reading your Bible each day will get you through the entire Bible in one year. Maybe you have never read through your Bible before. Let me challenge you to set a goal of investing 1% of your day getting to know more about the God of Creation, His plans for you, and how to navigate life when problems arise. This has been a wise investment of time for me over the years.

Just 14.4 minutes each day will help you get to know your neighbors. Do you know the names of the people in each of the four houses or apartments that surround your home? Do your neighbors know that you are a Christian? We have seen God bring about changes in the lives of our neighbors.

A person by themself is a mission. Each one has their own individual story. We have an important assignment as Christians to be ministers of reconciliation. We may be the only witness for Christ that someone will ever see. Consider this, if this were to be the last day of your life, what would you be doing differently right now, today? As the songwriter wrote, “Jesus is coming again!”

We are so thankful for family and friends who we were able to spend time with over the holiday season. God continues to give us good health. Please pray for Sandy as her sonogram shows some sort of infection in her lymph nodes, below her right ear, with no other symptoms. The doctor has ordered some blood work and a CT scan to see if the lymph nodes look normal. Thank you for your prayers.

Listening for the trump and praying,

Steve and Sandy Aholt
