Spring Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,
Like the Apostle Paul, we both thank the Lord, making mention of you always in our prayers. We are so thankful that God is providing all our needs, as He has promised, through your faithful prayers and your financial support for us during our retirement years.
On my mom’s birthday, March 28th, Sandy took me to the hospital ER. The doctor told me that high blood pressure is the silent killer. My blood pressure was 212/98. That is the reason why I could not stop my hands from shaking. I know now what people are going through when they say, “The doctor is trying to adjust my medication.” This is my first real prescription medication at age 72. Sandy’s doctors are still trying to narrow down the source of her dizziness. She has been diagnosed with TMD. Her jaw joints are deteriorating, and this may be the main source.

Picking up some medication yesterday at the pharmacy, a man in line shared that he had just been released from the hospital. He had a stroke that was caused by high blood pressure. He knew that it was high – he even had the medication, but he refused to follow the physician’s instructions. This reminds me of some people who know what the Bible says, but they also refuse to follow the Great Physician’s instructions. I prayed that God would give me someone to share my faith with, and here he was.
I asked him, “If you had died, where would you be right now – in Heaven, or in Hell?” His facial expression gave me his answer. I shared with him that through my years of studying the Bible, I have learned that the Bible has three important points: 1. God loved us, so He sent Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. 2. Jesus died, on a Roman cross, to pay the penalty for our sins. The payment for our sin is death. Then he was buried. 3. Jesus came back to life again after three days, to show that He had victory over sin and death. I asked him if he had ever seen anyone die and come back to life again, after three days? He replied, “No!” I told him that I haven’t either, but the Bible says that Jesus did. I told him that I have put my faith in Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection. The Bible says that without the resurrection, our faith is worth nothing. I told him that he must believe this, and ask Jesus to be his Savior. I said that the rest of the Bible is about obeying God and being blessed, disobeying God and being punished, and about how Christians are supposed to live today. Are you ready to share your faith with someone today? You may be the only Christian that this person ever talks to.
Sandy and I both have completed helping and leading our discipleship classes. We will have our final class on Resilient Marriage this coming Sunday afternoon. This final class deals with the topics of Money and Sexual Intimacy. Please pray for us to have wisdom to help a few couples who need extra time as they struggle in their marriage relationships. We have over fifty years of marriage experiences that we are sharing. We are to make disciples and build up one another in their faith. God’s Word is the solid foundation for success in life and in marriage.
Coralee, our granddaughter, just turned twenty-one years old. She is in school at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York for one year. She will graduate in August. Her Ohio driver’s license has just expired. She needs to renew in person to get an adult license. So, Stephanie is flying up Friday to drive Coralee and her car back to Ohio. Thank you for your prayers for their safety as they travel back home for summer break.
Zane, our grandson, just got promoted in his job at Canine Design. He is now learning about all that it takes to make a business operate.
Listening for the trump and praying,
Steve and Sandy Aholt
