Autumn Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,
Thanks to each one of you who have faithfully taken time to pray for our prayer requests. God is answering in specific ways. Thank you also for your generous monetary gifts and for your love for us as retired missionaries. We faithfully look for opportunities to be a witness wherever we go!
We pray the way that 2 Timothy 2:1 exhorts us to pray. We are to make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and to give thanks for all men, (because many blaspheme the name of God). Verse two tells us that when we do pray, we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
A real walk with God shows itself in simple, practical ways (James 1:27). It is a walk that helps orphans and widows in their troubles, and it keeps us unstained from the world’s corruption. We are able to actively visit with, and provide physical help to, four individuals who are in need of additional assistance in their daily living. It seems that there are those individuals who take advantage of vulnerable senior citizens.
The elder of these four is 97, and the youngest is in their late 70s. There is an endless flow of things that they require advice and assistance with. The youngest one fell last week and injured their left arm. The hospital said that there were two compound fractures just above the left wrist. One week later a specialist said that there is a tiny crack just below her elbow – not in her wrist. The week before that, the same person took their car to the dealership with a Check Engine light on. They were told that all of the fuel injectors needed replaced, however, the engine was running smoothly. Steve advised her to add some STP injector cleaner to her gas tank. She did, and after running a few errands, the check engine light turned off by itself. The engine is still running smoothly. How can these things happen?
Sandy is having a series of chiropractic adjustments and is able to sleep better with less pain. Steve was diagnosed with some calcium buildup on the back of his right heel where the Achilles tendon attaches. Doing therapy two days each week, with exercises in between, seems to be relieving some of the chronic pain that he has been experiencing. We both are still able to do aqua fitness classes twice each week. We rejoice how God is using us at the gym to bring people who are far from God closer to him – for his glory!

- Ian, Tom, and David – we are praying for Jehovah Rapha to heal their bodies from cancer; to have physical and spiritual strength; relieve their pain; wisdom and understanding for those attending to their needs
- Those who are battling pornography to have victory; we are not judges – we are ambassadors
- The teenage “prodigal sons” to see their sin and their need of a Savior
