Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,
Thank you so much for your financial giving during our retirement years. We thank the Lord for you daily and often for His faithfulness to each of you in providing for your needs, and for your faithfulness back to Him in giving back to His work through missionaries at home and abroad.
Your giving and your prayers have sustained us during this Summer 2025. Here are some highlights from this summer:
Thank you for praying for Kid’s Camp 2025 — ‘It’s All About Jesus!’ Sandy helped with giving out the snacks and drinks during those three days. Steve taught one of the four 5th grade classes. Here are some numbers:
- Over 800 individuals initially signed up to attend the three-day Kid’s Camp 2025
- 750 kids attended each day plus the 300 volunteers to make this work smoothly
- 360 first time kids who had never attended Journey International Church (JCI)
- 153 salvation/baptism decisions; 15 of these brought their parents or guardian to a meeting to insure everyone knew exactly what salvation and baptism is all about.
- 7 were baptized the following Sunday
- Children’s Offering totaled $3,399.90 toward the construction of a children’s playground in Guatemala where JCI is working through a church to do a Total Village Transformation helping in children’s ministry and medical clinics.
- 1,957 pounds of food items, brought by the children, helped restock the JCI Impact Center, providing food and clothing for families in need in our community. JCI is a church in the community – for our community.
We make a difference on the Spiritual Care Team at JCI each week. Steve is a huddle co-leader for our team on Sunday mornings. The huddle leader gives spiritual encouragement to the group along with important announcements of upcoming events. We are assigned to section 7 of the Worship Center welcoming people to the service and often praying with individuals, and some have led to the person or couple wanting to be counseled or mentored.
Steve will be a table leader for mentoring men in the basics of the Christian faith. Over the next 25 weeks, on Tuesday nights, beginning in September, he will be teaching lessons on Separation from God and covering everything in-between culminating, with sessions on the Multiplication of the believer. Sandy will be in a lady’s study on the same nights.
We have been Christians for over 50 years and have much to offer those who are maturing in their walk of faith. Speaking of 50 years, our 50th wedding anniversary is coming up on October 11th. We have prayed about and planned for something special to do. We have already travelled around the world as missionaries. We are uncomfortable about going on a giant cruise ship for various reasons. So, we have scheduled to go on a Scenic Rail Tour of West Virginia.
Please pray for our granddaughter Coralee. She has enrolled in a one-year program at Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York. This will be her next step outside of her comfort zone.
Please pray for our grandson Zane. He is enjoying working at a pet grooming shop grooming pets five days each week. Zane is also building the required experience in driving time required to getting his Ohio driver’s license. There are two different companies who want to hire Zane for his welding skills. One company builds emergency response vehicles.
Our home and sending church, Salem Baptist Church, is going through a transition of getting a new pastor. They have stop supporting us because we are retired. A different church in the same area has also contacted us that they will be stopping our support for the same reason. God has promised to, and will continue to, provide for all of our needs.
We rejoice and praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men (Psalm 107:8).
Listening for the trump and praying,
Steve and Sandy Aholt
