Summer has arrived in Tucson, and ready or not, here comes the broiler temperatures! Actually, Jesse and I quite like it. No, not to hang out in the heat, but we enjoy the break from school schedules, being able to visit our community pool some, and just having a bit of a more relaxed time. We have some bigger house projects we hope to finish this summer as well.
News from Paul and the hanger is on-going with projects. Paul is always working on something. Currently we have 1 plane in the paint shop, 1 getting its fuselage (cockpit/cabin area) repaired, and 4 planes flying off the hours until they have to be rotated back to Tucson for maintenance. Recently, 52Q from Chihuahua, had to come back to Tucson for some specialized work on the engine. Paul and the guys (5 of them) were able to get that taken care of in one day and the next morning, 52Q returned right back to service in Mexico. Thank you for your continued prayers for safety as our guys/husbands/teammates are flying daily.

Just recently one of our coworkers completed a Medivac flight for a young mother who became paralyzed after giving birth. She was transported to a hospital that would accept her case and care for her. As we minister to families in need, we pray that we will be the physical hands of God’s love for them. We are honored to be used in sharing Christ and we are thankful for you who are praying for us and those we meet day to day.

Using our stretcher to transport patients has been a huge help.
For UIM Aviation, things tend to slow down a little in these next few hot months. The weather in the mountains plays a big role in that as the storms roll in and flying decreases. This is also a time when different ones on the team head back to the US to re-visit family and friends who are partners with us in ministry.

In the meantime, we had a funnier flight request..What do you do when a missionary wants to transport goats in the Carbon Cub FX-3? You “goat tie them” and line the inside of the plane with plastic and absorbent towels. Thankfully they did not use the bathroom and faired fine for the 30 minute flight. We have a happy missionary farmer and some happy goats. Lord willing, a little malnourished Tarahumara girl will be able to enjoy some good goat milk. You never know what you might have to fit in a little airplane. 😄

Bethany and Filipe received great news about Filipe’s US Citizenship. He has taken his test and been accepted! The swearing in ceremony is in June. The grand babies … just seeing their faces brings a boost of joy to Paul and I. FaceTime is a marvelous invention!!!

Matthew and Karizma are still in San Diego. They were recently able to visit Bethany and Filipe in Virginia and love on Jade and Blake.

Gabriel and Ruth are doing well. Gabriel will be serving with Samaritans Purse in Niger this summer on an Internship. We are super excited for this opportunity for him. Ruth is currently in Italy with her family working on citizenship documents.

Miriam and Mercury have been dating for a while now. We appreciate your prayers as another of our kids navigates this next phase in life. Miriam will be returning to the US in August to attend Liberty University for the Fall Semester. She has news for after that, but you will have to wait to hear that from her.

Jesse is finishing out her 10th grade year. This young lady has a sense of humor that we are all enjoying. She is starting to research where she will go for her first year of college. She is planning on a year of Bible College, just not sure where yet.
We have some travels coming up for us. The end of July is OshKosh EAA AirVenture in Wisconsin. Paul will be driving up and representing UIM Aviation. August 10th we have a niece getting married in VA, so we will be traveling across the US once again to attend that. (A bonus: Paul’s sister Jenny & family, and his Mom & Dad will all be coming from Germany for that wedding as well since it is Jenny’s daughter getting married, so we will get to see them.)
Remember, we do have some empty rooms so if you want to come visit, let us know and we will “book it” for you. (So far this year we have had a few dear friends take us up on this invite, besides our coworkers who come and go needing a place to stay. The “Timblin Bed, & Breakfast on your own” is thriving.
Thank you again for your prayers, friendship and encouragement.

With much love,
Paul and Laurel
