Winter is phasing out and spring is soon to be here In the Tri-cities and we are looking forward to the encouraging appearance of warm sunshine along with the flowers of spring. Something else that is encouraging is the number of young people applying for the short-term Encounter trips offered by Ethnos360. My colleague in Florida and I have reviewed 34 applications so far for the short-term trips to Southeast Africa, Asia Pacific, Brazil and Mexico. I just learned that the trips to Asia Pacific, Brazil and Southeast Africa are full. PTL! For the Interface program, which is Ethnos360’s college mission course, there will be at least 29 students traveling to Papua New Guinea for the 6 week program beginning in June. PTL!
Ramu Valley Academy (RVA), became an officially recognized private school by the government of Papua New Guinea in 2019. In the years before 2019 Ethnos360 missionaries in the Ramu Valley area of Papua New Guinea sensed a need from the many believers among the churches planted in that area. RVA was launched as an English Language School with Elementary and Secondary grades with an emphasis on discipleship as well. The goal of this school is to graduate individuals who will be equipped to serve well in their communities and churches. When you have opportunity check out their Facebook page. You will be blessed!
Currently we are projecting 10 to 11 new Associate members to be attending Pre-field Orientation in Florida this June. After PFO there will be one couple and 2 singles who will be traveling to Papua New Guinea to serve at RVA. PTL! Three of these individuals will be filling much-needed teaching positions, which are Secondary Math Teacher, Science/Social Science Teacher, and Science/Physics Teacher.
Today we received some sad news that our beloved brother in the Lord and dear friend John Reavi had passed away suddenly in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. We worked with John for many years and he was a valued member of the mission staff team. He was greatly used of the Lord and was well known for reaching many people for Christ through the Ethnos360 Firm Foundations teaching program. Please pray for John’s family at this time as they grieve his passing. Also, please pray that the Moresby Government Rep team will be able to find another qualified person to serve on the team.
