Please pray for Faimpat (pictured above with his family) as he is now leading an outreach (with Eyaka’s help) to teach the book of Romans to a group of Hewa believers in the village of Fiyawena. This is the same location where we and the Copley’s lived from 2000-2006 until war broke out and interrupted our plans. In recent years, that village had invited Faimpat and Eyaka to teach them the Creation through Christ lessons which resulted in several of them placing their trust in Jesus as their Savior. Faimpat then taught them through the book of Acts and recently has been waiting for them to gather in the village again for the next set of lessons. The villagers sent a message saying they are now ready to hear the important truths of Romans, so Faimpat and Eyaka hiked there to begin. Please pray they will not be distracted by current and ongoing threats from other villages, but that the Lord will give them safety and the ability to focus as Faimpat teaches the Word over the next few months.
It was great to be back together with our Hewa friends and to see their continued desire to study the Word together. In the picture above Ken and Maikol were team-teaching the first of a series of five sessions from the book of Jude. Please pray for the church elder/pastors and the school teachers as well as other leaders in the village, that they will lead with discernment and courage and that the Lord will raise up many new workers for His harvest from among them.
Announcement! We are pleased to say that Tobia and Mikayla are expecting our first grandchild! Please pray for a safe delivery with good health for both Mikayla and baby. Tobia has sacrificed his extra airline miles to buy Susan a round-trip ticket to be with them for the birth of the baby, so she is super excited to fly to California for a three-week visit starting in mid-October.
