Thank you for your love, prayers and gifts! We are deeply grateful for your huge part in sharing the love of Jesus with the Hewa tribal people of Papua New Guinea. Thank you!
Although we miss being with our tribal friends in Papua New Guinea during this temporary ‘home assignment’, it has been wonderful reconnecting with family and friends at ‘home’. After spending time with Susan’s family and Micah & Sallie in South Carolina, we took Mikenna to Wisconsin where she has started Ethnos360 Bible school. Our next destination was California where we visited Mikayla & Tobia and had the joy of seeing our very first granddaughter, Moshaya. Currently, we are settled in Idaho with my parents and family. While here, we look forward to sharing with church groups the ways God has been at work among the Hewa tribe of Papua New Guinea. We received urgent news from the Hewa tribe that a severe drought in the South Pacific has caused the village gardens to stop producing food and the spring, that supplies water to both the village and school, to dry up. Since there are no stores in the remote mountains where food can be purchased, we decided to temporarily close the school and send all the teachers to their homes. Please pray that the Lord will provide enough rain that the village gardens will start producing again quickly.
We were deeply saddened to hear that the baby son of one of our Hewa pastors, named Faimpat/Joel, suffered severe burns after falling into a fire. Faimpat and his wife, Ailam (pictured with baby) quickly arranged an emergency flight to a Nazarene hospital near the town of Mt. Hagen. The baby is now receiving skin grafts on his forehead. A family friend shared that the baby is in a lot of pain and has requested prayers for his healing.
