Update: Late September 2024
Hi Team,
Just wanted you to know that I landed safely late last night here in the Capital city. I had a very long immigration line ahead of me but finally able to get through by 1:00 a.m. and then made it to the hotel at 1:30 and finally to bed just after 2:00 a.m. It was really good to finally get horizontal. All the flights went well and on time. I wish our American Airline Companies could take some lessons from the Japanese airlines. The Americans are trying to squeeze in more seats which makes it more cramped and less room to get up and move around. It was a blessing to board Japan Airlines last night with a larger seat and more room all the way around.
Just want to thank you all SO MUCH for praying. I will be heading up to the province tomorrow, and we will begin meeting with some of our missionary teams on Saturday, and then again on Monday. Then starting Tuesday we will have a three-day regional missionary conference with all our regional missionaries present. Then the most exciting part of it all will be getting into Wana on the 23rd where we will have lots of time for fellowship, Bible conference, and working together with the church for getting a strategy in place for the future of our Wana Youth program. I am looking forward to all of it and appreciate your prayers.
I have of course already been in contact with Jeanne and also with Geoff and all is well on the home front and down in Peru, S.A. I appreciate your prayers for Jeanne while I am away during this time.
God Bless you all,
Ed (The eagle)

Earlier in September…Greetings all,
It is hard to believe that lift-off time is here. I will be departing our local regional airport early, headed for Dallas-Tokyo-Asia Pacific. I will appreciate your prayers as I will be in transit for the next couple of days. I will also really appreciate your prayers as Jeanne holds down the fort alone for the next 4 weeks and that she will stay healthy and things here at the house will work well for her. I have checked the faucets, checked the pipes, cleaned the drains, cleaned the filters, checked oil in the cars, etc. etc., trying to make sure all bases are covered before departure.

I have included a photo of our church leaders from one of our Wana churches. We would be amiss if we only shared the positive things and never shared some of the challenges. In the past few years we have seen the gospel spread like never before in Wana. But we fight a spiritual battle and Satan is always looking for ways to thwart the expansion of the gospel. One of the ways he often uses is to attack from “within.” For the past number of months, these men have had some serious misunderstandings amongst one another which was causing division in the church. We tried to give some help when I was there in March but it became obvious that things were still not settled.
Then last month we sent in a team of 3 church leaders from two other Wana churches to see if they could help resolve the issues. After 5 days of meeting together, these men were able to confess their faults one to another!! This came with many tears, hugs, and praying together. The next Sunday service some of them felt the need to get up and apologize to the whole church group for the poor example they had been setting of not being of one heart and one mind. Please be praying for these men, “…..that he which hath begun a good work in them will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”. I am excited to get back to this village just two weeks from today to be able to follow up and to be able to have some time with these dear brothers;
Thanks so much for being a part of this wonderful ministry.
God Bless,
Ed n Jeanne
