Greetings Team!

“But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” – John 4:14

We wanted to send you a little update so you can follow along with things that are happening in Wana. We thought we would highlight the outreach in the village of “Ue mPili” this time. The name “Ue mPili” translates into English as “Chosen Water”. When thinking of the name of this village I am reminded of Jesus being the Water of Life.

Getting ready to go upstream last weekend for teaching and fellowship – the new canoe just put into service

They are enjoying their “new ride”

Your might remember last year the evangelistic team there was working hard on making a dugout canoe and also a ‘team house’ which the evangelistic team would have to use while ministering in this village. Just this last month they put the canoe into service powered by a 13 hp Honda engine which is sufficient to get them upstream.

“Pa Ande” leading the teaching at the Sunday morning service. They do not have a church building yet so are using the Village meeting house for a temporary meeting place.

They just sit around the edge on the floor with the wall serving as a back rest. All absorbed in the Bible lesson being taught.

They were also able to finish their house and adjacent kitchen which will be their living quarters while there. This is one of those villages that already had a “church” but the gospel was strangely missing in their message. When some of these people were exposed to the gospel from some of our folks they also asked to be taught, and this is growing into a larger and larger outreach group. A few of the first to hear the gospel have come to know the Lord but the bulk of them, who are just starting to be taught, are listening intently and comparing their “old world view” passed down from their forefathers, to what they are now hearing from the Scriptures. These people are VERY open to the gospel message so lets be praying for them to see the fallacy of their old world view and put their trust in Christ as their Savior – the “Water that brings everlasting life.”

“Pa Handri” – one of the evangelists

The missionary team house & kitchen – they often keep the kitchen separate from the main house which helps deal with the
smoke from the fire used for cooking.

Thanks so much for being a part of this ministry through your prayers.

God Bless,

Ed & Jeanne Casteel
