Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

We are both well and praising God for the health and strength that He has given us. Many friends and family have reported being sickened by the covid virus. We continue to pray, keep our hands clean, wear a mask when we go out, eat a balanced diet, and take extra vitamins, supplements, and essential oils. We have always followed the rule to work like it all depends on us, and trust God like it all depends on Him. This combination seems to be working well. We rejoice in our God, who loves us more each day, and in His Word, where we find truth that sets the captive free.

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and financial support for us during our retirement years. Your love and care for us mean more than we can express.

Life seems busier now than before we retired as full-time foreign missionaries with ABWE. As Christians, we never retire from full-time missionary life until the Lord takes us up to be with Him. He said, “Behold, I come quickly.” He could come back today! Are you ready? We are always working and listening for the trumpet!

This Aholt Advances update began back in July. We were transitioning from Microsoft Windows 7, which is no longer supported, to Windows 10. Now we hear that Windows 11 is coming out soon! Well, to make a two-month-long story short, we are finally back up and running. We had to re-enter all of our addresses, by hand, as none of them transferred over automatically. We rejoice in this great tool to share God’s blessings with others.

In July, we were able to visit the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter in Kentucky. Totally AWESOME! We then traveled to Ohio and enjoyed eight fun-filled days with our daughter Stephanie and her family. We met one of their pastors and his wife, Melissa. She had a golf ball size brain tumor that was removed, the end of July. Please pray for her recovery as this has been a very serious and painful experience. Melissa is such a sweet Christian. They have two school-age children who are really experiencing anguish from what their mom is going through. She still has no hearing in her right ear following the surgery. Please pray for her complete healing!

Our grandson, Zane, is on the high school bowling team. This is something new for him, and he is enjoying it. Our granddaughter, Coralee, is in her Junior year of high school. She is really enjoying playing flute in the school marching band. She is taking an equine class to develop her knowledge and love for horses – possibly using this field as a career. Thank you for your prayers for them to be a light for Christ, in their school.

Sandy made the decision to NOT go back to work in food service in our local schools. This was a bitter/sweet decision for her. She has a heart for those young impressionable lives. Her left ankle is still giving her some pain. We are checking to see if there is something that her doctor can recommend to reduce her pain and aid toward complete healing. Thank you for your prayers about this.

Steve shared, as a guest speaker, in a Sunday Life Group, about some of our adventures in Papua New Guinea. God was, and still is, the director of everything in our lives. Without Him, we can do nothing!

God is using us as caregivers for Sandy’s cousin Sharon. We have been “jumping through hoops” to get to the end of September, so Sharon can have the first of two total hip replacements. Sandy is with her this afternoon for a pre-operative meeting prior to her procedure – a week from today. Please pray that Sharon would have relieved pain and complete healing following her surgery.

Steve’s 50th High School class reunion is in October. How can this be? We are merely reaching more advanced stages of mental development. Dedicated – not medicated!

Listening for the trumpet,

Steve and Sandy Aholt
