We are grateful to report that a team from a wonderful church in Australia came to Hewa to start the first phase of constructing two small dorm buildings for our Christian school! We were thankful for safety and great progress as these three men and a son put up the main structures and finished the roofs before their departure. We were very blessed by the sweet fellowship and servants’ hearts of this team from the church in Mary Valley.
This same church is planning to send another small group of volunteers next month to continue on with the next phase of this construction project but there is much preperation to be done first. Please pray the Lord brings together all the details so these two dorms can be ready for the 7th-8th grade students when their new classes start in January.
You will be pleased to hear that Faimpat and Eyaka returned from their outreach to the Fiyawena village with great reports about their time teaching through the book of Romans to the new believers there. Though they were disappointed that many of the younger single men did not show up, the majority of the villagers were so enthusiastic about growing in their faith that they asked to be taught twice a day, every day of the week! Faimpat is encouraged by the growth in this group of baby believers and says there are many who are eager to publicly demonstrate their faith by baptism after he returns to teach the book of Ephesians. Please pray their faith will grow and that Faimpat can teach Ephesians soon.
Thank you for your amazing love and prayers for us as we press forward toward the goal of printing and delivering the New Testament to the Hewa believers in June of next year. We are encouraged that the believers desire to meet and study the Word together (using the temporary spiral-bound copies) both in church services and in their individual homes. Please pray they continue to grow in their faith and love for the Lord Jesus.
Susan is planning a quick trip to California next week to be with our daughter, Mikayla (and her husband), as she gives birth to our first granddaughter! Please pray for safety in travels, and that Mikayla and baby will be healthy and strong.
