Greetings all,

I am going to try and do something a little different this time. Attached is a short video that was recorded Sunday evening as I had the opportunity to meet with the new believers via Skype and study God’s word together with them. I am hoping that you will be able to open it up and listen to “Pa’a Ian” as he talks to me. BTW: this is 6:00 a.m. Monday morning for them – I am humbled to see how eager these folks are to hear God’s word and show it by getting up so early in the morning. Pa’ Ian is a new believer and sharing with me how happy they are to have the gospel and the peace of God that has come with it. In this video, there is a fellow sitting up front in a pink shirt whose name is “Zacchaeus”, nicknamed “Keus”. He was one of our guides who led us into Wana back in 1978. He and I hit it off real well right from the start, but please pray for him as to my knowledge he has still not accepted the Lord as Savior.

Well I know what Pa’a Ian has to say in the video won’t make much sense to you, so here is what he has to say:

We feel so happy in our insides to praise the Lord, as from the help of the Lord we are able to meet together like this on skype. So we say to the Lord ‘thank you’ that all this can happen, and we know that all that is happening is part of God’s plan for us in our lives. Before we started studying the gospel with the church up river we were very troubled and had no peace, but we now praise the Lord that those troubles came our way, because through those troubles we are now happy and glad to praise the Lord (because of our salvation). We know that has come through those troubles we faced, and we now can experience the peace of God in our lives, so we are happy and glad to praise God in our lives because we feel that the help (salvation) we have received from the Lord is now evident in our lives.

Keep in mind that before he was saved, Pa’a Ian, was part of a Wana millenarian gathering of people who had fled their ordinary lives to seek salvation – but it only brought troubles and no peace. Pa’a Ian is the same fellow I sat down with last month, and with tears rolling down his cheeks he told me he had been a deacon in the other church there for over 30 years but just now has come to know Jesus as his Savior. It was evident that he couldn’t understand why or how that could happen and why it had taken him this long to come to really know and understand the gospel. Let’s keep praying for the people in this village that many more will come to know Jesus as their Savior.

These are exciting days!
