A few of the Tucson UIM Aviation team with Simeon, Naomi, and their 2 kids.
This month Paul completed a maintenance orientation with Simeon K, our newest pilot to join UIM Aviation. Simeon and Naomi have 3 kids (1 of them still growing in Mommy). They just completed language school and returned to Tucson to wrap things up before moving to Mexico to join our team in Tepic. We are so excited to have Simeon and Naomi. Please, would you pray for them as this is a huge move AND Naomi is expecting this baby to arrive in April… in Mexico! How many ladies would make this trip planning to birth a baby just months after moving to another country?!

During the maintenance orientation, which coincided with an annual Inspection, a crack was found in an Outboard landing gear casting. This crack is a BIG deal and a good thing to find, but also a sad discovery due to the amount of work and finances to fix it. Above is the broken one…can you find the crack? I could not… so way at the bottom of this letter is your 2 pictures to help you. Don’t go look till you give this a good old try to find the crack. I’d love to hear if you found it yourself.

When I see something like this, I am amazed and so thankful for the maintenance skill of Paul and our other guys in the shop. I know our families in Mexico who have Dad/Hubby flying these planes are thankful, too. Thank you for praying for our guys to have sharp eyes and wisdom as they inspect the planes looking for itty bitty things that can create great big issues if not addressed. Any guesses as to the cost of this little thing? (new one above) Replacing it is absolutely necessary for safe landings…and it came at the nifty little price of $3100.00!

Paul started the travels for 2025 with a trip to TX for the Pilot Meetings. This is a week of strategizing, evaluation and fellowship for our pilots. This is our team and we appreciate your prayers for safety as we use the airplanes to reach people in the mountains of Mexico for Christ.

Miriam put together this map showing where we will be traveling to this summer. We have been scheduling our route and it is daunting, but do-able. In the middle of all this we have Gabriel’s wedding in Virginia, a nephew’s wedding in Winston-Salem, and a family reunion with Laurel’s siblings who are all in the States at the same time (last time this happened was in 2015).
SUPPORT UPDATE: We are still short, but not as bad as it was, thanks to a few who raised support and a new supporter. We are seeking opportunities to share with new people this year. Sharing the gospel with tribal people in the mountains of Mexico is what we do, and airplanes help us do this much better. We are honored to be part of UIM Aviation and want to give others the opportunity to partner with us in this ministry. If you would like to join our support team, this will take you directly to the web page for giving. You will have to type our name into the bar once you get there.

Bethany and Filipe will welcome baby Kate sometime in early April. Jade is super excited about having a live baby to play with, and Blake …. well, this baby may need a little protection there! Please pray with us for a safe delivery and healthy baby.

Matthew and Karizma continue working with the youth at their church and appreciate prayers as they seek the Lord’s leading in their life.

Gabriel and Ruth will be married on May 31st. We are so thankful for Ruth’s parents who have raised her to love the Lord and seek His will in her life. If you are a parent, you know that praying for a spouse for your kids is huge. Thank you for praying for our kids all these years. We really do appreciate it.

Miriam leaves for the Philippines on March 11th! She is doing a 2.5 yr program with Newlife International School of Midwifery. We are so excited for her to take this next path in her life. If you know Miriam, you know she is a natural caregiver and loves babies, so this is right up her alley. She has an amazing scholarship that has been a HUGE answer to prayer. She is needing about $400/month for living expenses and is looking for people who wish to partner with her. She has over half of that amount raised already. If you would like to help her financially or get her newsletters, email her at mltimblin4@gmail.com As her mom writing this, I will say that Paul and I have total peace with Miriam going, and love that our kids get to experience other cultures as they serve God. However, my mommy heart keeps me up some nights thinking of another goodbye and sending my girl across the world again.

This picture of Jesse just makes me smile. Please pray for her as she is figuring out plans for after graduation. She wants to do a year of Bible College, preferably internationally… just hasn’t nailed down where yet.
We will hopefully see you this summer as we do our whirlwind trip. If you would like to meet up, let me know and we will get in touch. Thank you for praying for us as we make all the preparations for this summer trip.
with love
Laurel and Paul

I had to have Paul really label where the crack is because I couldn’t see it even with zooming in.
