Dear Team Members, February 5th, 2018

Lots going on this past month as there were times we faced 32 degree weather, which we are not used to!!! Some of you have faced below freezing weather, pipes freezing, and lots of snow!! Even in Australia there has been unusual weather – really hot – then cooling down and having golf ball size hail!!

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day is over, BUT that is not entirely true! Yes, Christ is the reason for Christmas, BUT Christ is the reason for EVERY DAY, and being THANKFUL is what we need to be EVERY DAY ALSO!!

Thanksgiving Day has gone by, BUT being THANKFUL for YOU is always foremost in our hearts and minds! We had a SPECIAL day with friends, and trust you had a SPECIAL DAY with family and or friends also!

In our last Update, we shared about our friends Bryan and Del Coupland and his book “Come Rest with Me” and his interview with Gracia Burnham. We have heard how that was a blessing to folk receiving our Updates, and want to share something else Bryan shared which brought tears of JOY to our hearts:

How we THANK the Lord for each of you and the bond we have in Him 

How THANKFUL we are for His Word that ALWAYS encourages our hearts!!!!

It is His Word that keeps us going! I would like to share a portion of an email we received from special friends, Bryan and Del Coupland, a while back. We first met Bryan and Del in August of 1969, in Durham Ontario Canada, when we started specialized missionary training to reach unreached ethnic people. Bryan has personally dealt with cancer, as well as Del recently. He wrote the book “Come Rest in Me”, which is such a blessing. Bryan has given us permission to share the following for which we can say a BIG AMEN!!!

Greetings from hot and humid Florida! We trust you are keeping safe and well with all the unseasonable weather around!

We are EXCITED and EVER SO THANKFUL for recent news: There are a number of new missionaries heading to the fields of Papua New Guinea, Brazil, the Philippines, and Mexico! Besides saying their good-byes to family, there will be many adjustments, and hard work. Know these new missionaries would appreciate your prayers!

We sure have an AWESOME GOD! How thankful we are for the Lord opening the door and meeting our needs to be able to go to see our daughter Esther and her family for 11 days! We saw Esther last year, but had not seen Ricky, Majh, and Desi for two years due to my cancer journey. They had friends who were away and allowed us to stay in their lovely home while there – GOD’S PROVISION :o) We were also able to see other friends on the way up and back, and on June 3rd we were able to have a bit of a family reunion – 15 of us as some of Charlie’s extended family lived within two hours of Esther and Ricky who now live in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia – one cousin he had not seen for around 35 years!!!!!!!!!!!! Majh, now three years old, was healthy while we were there and we trust that will continue!!!

Some of our retirees faithfully go to a local detention center weekly to interact with the kids there. They are praising the Lord for a good time last week with the five kids who came out for this time. They are so thankful for the hunger these kids showed for the Word of God!! Please be praying for these retirees and for these kids and others in the future to put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior!
