Dear praying friends,
During the month of July, we hosted a short-term mission team from The Bahamas to our Medical and Educational Outreach in La Florida, Dominican Republic. The team of 12 participated in Vacation Bible School where 46 youth came to know Jesus Christ as personal savior. We also had the opportunity to do prayer walks and visits with homeowners and offer encouragement and prayer. The area where our facilities are is home to some 4,000 and our clinic is the only clinic. The government provides a part-time doctor and nurse.
Project Ruth is a Ministry we started in the mountains of La Florida.
- Restoring – in the last nine years the Lord has rescued and restored 30 teenagers who were involved in sex trafficking
- Undergirding — The educational system. We help the school and provide backpacks and outreach to the students
- Teaching – the love of Jesus and social values
- Healthcare- the clinic is the only one there for 4,000 residents
One of our programs is providing community bathrooms. We built our first one and it allows five families to bathe in private and no longer in the open.
Upon returning from the mission trip we received a message from the ministry of health. They informed if we would remodel one of our rooms into an efficiency they would provide a full-time doctor. What an amazing opportunity. We ask you to keep this need in prayer and consider a donation to the $2,500.00 needed for the remodel. God bless!
