Dear praying friends,

It is difficult to know where to begin.

I know:- for all those in Australia – we do trust you had a Happy Father’s Day. Doug had a lovely day with Rhesa and Roxanne talking to him over the phone, and the other three and their children here for the afternoon.

Everyone went home, we retired to bed, and from the depths of a deep sleep I heard my name being called. Doug had fallen, and dislocated his shoulder…. AGAIN. So off to the Emergency Department at the Hospital, to have it put in – yet again. Routinely, after each time the shoulder is relocated, they Xray the shoulder to make sure everything is in the right place.

Two weeks ago, after studying the Xray, it was noticed that there was a shadow on Doug’s right lung. Since then, he has had a CT scan and there is a tumour on his lung. Now we begin the ‘waiting game’ – an appointment with the respiratory clinic at the hospital and a biopsy. So the challenges keep coming, and the Lord continues to give grace day by day.

However, I would ask specific prayer for Doug as he is dealing with a lot of back pain. He barely slept for 12 days, and eventually he was admitted to hospital, and is now wearing a patch to help deal with the pain.

We are enjoying our new home, we have been delighted to visit with family and friends, and are very grateful to support groups which we can access. We have NOT been impressed with our telephone company. We have waited and waited for phone ‘hook up’ which eventually happened, BUT we are still with a TEMPORARY phone number and we were also without Internet for 10 days, but Bryan has set us up with a wireless modem, as our computer was set up for what is suppose to be our OLD (and transferred) telephone number. As you can see, I am still pretty challenged with technology, and am so thankful for son-in-laws who can keep us ‘in touch’.
We are thankful too, for you dear prayer supporters, and for God’s sustaining grace.
I’d like to share a couple of the verses in the text we are studying in our Home Group this week. Romans 8:37-39. “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him (Christ) who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death or life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height or depth neither anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

With thanks for your prayers.

Doug and Bev
