Dear Team Members,

FINSHED! Yes, my radiation treatments are FINISHED! The radiation burns were no fun, but have healed well. Thank you so much for your prayers. Now, we just go to Orlando every three weeks until December 1st for one treatment, then we are FINISHED, except for the occasional check up with my oncologist. I have started on a medication I will take for five years – a type of hormone blocker.

On September 8th, my cousin Joan and her husband Al are coming for a visit from Idaho! We are looking forward to that time. They are slowing down, as we are, so we will take one day at a time Smile

Our oldest son Raymond, who lives in Kansas, had knee surgery today for two tears. Know he would appreciate your prayers for a quick recovery!

My dear Friend Paula Oliver needs our prayers! 5 ½ years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a single mastectomy. This past week, cancer was found on the other side Frown We are trusting the Lord to give wisdom to the oncologist and surgeon to know how to treat this situation. Paula and her husband John (in fact their whole family) have been such a blessing to me and Charlie through my cancer journey this year!!! Know they would appreciate your prayers!!!! Paula is encouraged in the Lord and resting in Him in this unfolding journey.

Our grandson Jayden, in Australia, has been working and his job is coming to an end. He has been saving and is planning to go to Papua New Guinea in October for two or more months to visit his Aunt Robyn and Uncle Dave Parry, who work in the Highlands with New Tribes Mission, and his cousins. We know this will be quite an eye opener for him!!!!!!!! Know he would appreciate your prayers for his time there!!!!

After Joan and Al head back to Idaho, I would like to start correcting the Prison Ministry Bible Study course papers again. My mind is much clearer from the chemo fog, and does not require a lot of traveling to do that. We know that those doing it now would appreciate your continued prayers as they reach out to prisoners in this ministry!

In the New Year, we will decide if we are up to continuing to teach English as a Second Language, which is not locally. Both Charlie and I both get really tired and still try and pace ourselves. Being involved locally may be a better option. We certainly appreciate your prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With my having cancer, it has been 2 ½ years since we were out in Kansas to see Ray and Janelle and their dear family. Our two great-grandchildren will not know us, so we trust the Lord to go out there for Christmas, if all is well with me.

We thank the Lord for your love and care for us, and trusting Him to encourage you also!

All Because of Jesus,

Charlie & Cherrie

Cherrie’s Musings:

Over the weekend I was thinking back to the early 1950’s! Do any of you remember when one could go to a shop and sit behind a curtain and sing and make a record?! Our Mom took my other sister Bonnie and our younger sister Lynda, and me and we made a record!!!!! We sang “Jesus Loves me this I know.” That song is PRECIOUS to this day and ALWAYS WILL BE!

“Jesus Loves me this I know, For the Bible tells me so; Little ones to Him belong, They are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.”

The other two verses are SO PRECIOUS ALSO!

”Jesus loves me! He who died – Heaven’s gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in.

Jesus take this heart of mine, Make it pure and wholly Thine; On the cross You died for me, I will try and live for Thee.

Chorus: Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.”
