Hola Family and Friends!

I am sitting on my porch this rainy afternoon enjoying the cool weather (and tolerating the mosquitoes that come along with the cooling rain). As I sit here and read God’s Word, I am overwhelmed by all I have for which to be thankful and I want to share my gratitude with you all. Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and financial support. As part of my team of supporters back home, you are an indescribable blessing to me personally, to the ministry here, and to the advancement of God’s Kingdom around the world.

You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God

-2 Corinthians 9:11-12

Thank and Praise God for:
-Continued improvement in our math assessment scores (2 weeks ago, 15% of our students were passing. As of Friday, May 2, 46% of our school is passing. Our school average has improved from 33% to 61%.)
-Continued attendance and participation in Clase Biblica with our middle school girls on Wednesdays – read this amazing story of Christ’s transforming power in the life of one of our students on my blog
-An opportunity for me to visit my family after our school year ends and before our summer program starts (I will be in AZ May 31-June 12)
-Clear direction from the Lord about His plans for me for this summer which include teaching in our summer program for PreK-2nd graders and leading our team of 3 summer interns as they live and serve in Monte Plata

Pray for:
-The possible arrival of new children at Casa Monte Plata – that God would give our leadership direction and wisdom as they make hard decisions (read about why those decisions aren’t so black-and-white on James and Rebekah Holt’s blog)
-My opportunities to share with supporters and friends while I’m home – that God would speak through me for His glory alone
-Carlo, a friend of my roommate who is searching for the Lord and is asking a lot of questions – that God would reveal the Truth to him through his new Bible we were able to provide and that God would give my roommate and I wisdom in our conversations with him
-Direction about my role at our school next year
-The 3 interns who will be arriving in Monte Plata at the end of June to live with Nadelly and I in our home and serve with our ministry
-Travel mercies for all 4 of the Monte Plata missionaries (James and Rebekah Holt, Alex Wines, and myself) who will all be traveling to/from the USA within the next month

My prayer for you all is that you experience more of God today – more of His grace, His mercy, His forgiveness, His patience, and His deep love. I look forward to seeing many of you when I am home. I will be sharing at First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale on Sunday June 1 and will be at Palmcroft Baptist Church on Sunday June 8.

Love in Christ,
Kristin Barber
