Late March 2024
Show of hands please, all you who LOVE being “on hold!” That’s what our rollercoaster life has been since I first arrived in California some 40 weeks ago – constantly on hold bracing for the next plunge. Now it seems we are in gear for getting off this dead end street – just not as we had hoped and still definitely not very fast! The 2nd lawyer has also come to the same conclusion as the 1st, that the house title cannot be cleared without a 1-2 year wait to get on the probate court schedule. Funds to pay the mortgage won’t hold out that long so – now what?? And how does this fit in with being people of integrity before the Lord in paying financial commitments??? Also, we have been told it will be a tax nightmare for my sister next year if we don’t do it right. So – what is right???? The attorney is supposedly looking into this for us. Legal counsel seems to come with more months “on hold” though as our issues are minor compared to so many others. In that at least, we have much to praise and thank the Lord for!
In the meantime I’m making plans to start moving in the SEMO (South East Missouri) direction:
- 18th April– nephew Tom from Kansas is flying out to help me load and drive a 26’ U-Haul cross country
- 19th we’ll hire a crew to help us load
- 20-23rd drive MO
- 24th unload into long term storage there
- 29th (or there abouts!) I’ll fly back to CA for the duration to “finish up” here.
- I would LOVE to be able to move my sister and niece to Missouri mid-May. Lots needs to happen before that though, so it is probably another prolonged uphill climb on the rollercoaster!

That’s my favorite melody these days! Thanks for standing with us. Your prayers are greatly appreciated! God is able and I do look forward to Him continuing to keep His promise to never leave or forsake us, even through these uncertain times with their questionable issues!
