Old and New Friends

It has been so much fun to reconnect with old friends and make new friends. We have not seen some of these friends in over 12 years! It’s been wonderful to make new friends in the churches that we have visited and spoken in as well. Not only have our travels enabled us to see family and lots of basketball games, but have also afforded the luxury of us being able to get in touch with these friends once again!

Atkins Family

We visited Dave and Andi (Trey’s brother and sister-in-law) for the first time since they got married and moved to their new place, which backs up to the Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas. We so enjoyed our time with them and being out of the city.

Basketball Bonanza

Bret’s team at East Texas Baptist University had another winning season! Their record was 21-6. The ASC conference tournament was in Alpine, Texas, the home of Sul Ross University. This was our second trip to Alpine this year and we got better acquainted with some family members on Trey’s side that we hadn’t seen in a long time. We count it a privilege to get to have been in West Texas again. To top it off, Bret won the ASC Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Year and was selected to the ASC All-Conference Team.

Churches in the USA

We are so thankful for the churches that have hosted us this year. Just a couple of weeks ago we were with FBC Georgetown, a great church just north of Austin. We are so thankful for and impressed by the missions focus of the churches we have been in. There seems to be a new excitement and passion for the Great Commission!

Thanks so much for your prayers on behalf of our family. They are priceless!

Join with us in praying for a miracle of healing for George. He has responded well thus far, but recently began a new round of radiation. Pray, also, for Yvonne, Trey’s mom, as she provides the primary caretaker role.

Continue to pray for Ryan and Summer as they continue to work as English teachers in China and that God would clearly direct them as they consider what to do next. They have a further education or another international opportunity to consider.

Remember Bret and Dana as they prepare for their upcoming marriage on June 17 and are praying about their future as well. Join with them as they consider an international opportunity or staying put in East Texas!
