Greetings all,
I was reminded this morning that I failed to give you an “eagle” update when I landed Asia Pacific. I guess after the 40 hour trip from Nebraska and all the jet lag my mind was in a fog – I apologize. Anyway, I arrived Asia Pacific on Schedule and made it through immigration and customs with no problems. Then on Saturday, I flew up to the province. I was greeted by a large church group on Sunday followed by a potluck dinner and then meeting with folks during the afternoon. It was good to reconnect with everyone here in town. Monday we had leadership meetings and then on Tuesday I met all day with one of our tribal missionary teams.
I’m heading in to the tribe so will be very limited in communication for the next several days. One village has no cell phone contact, and two others have what they call mini towers of which the signal is not as good. Hopefully, I will be able to stay in contact with Jeanne at least by text. Geoff also calls her every day to make sure all is okay. We do appreciate your prayers for Jeanne as she has been fighting with E. Coli which she picked up while in Peru. She seems to be improving little by little, so we appreciate your prayers that she can stay on that trajectory.
Tomorrow night I will be in the village where Jeanne and I lived for a number of years. I’m looking forward to meeting with the believers there. Then on Friday we will fly to another village where we will be involved in a Wana Bible conference for 4 days. From there we will fly to another tribal group and spend two days there meeting with the missionary team. From there we fly back into Wana to meet with the leaders of our largest Wana church. As you know, we have seen a great thrust in getting the gospel out to many different villages in the past two years. It hasn’t gone unnoticed by Satan, and he has been doing all he can to thwart the efforts of the church. There have been some divisions in the church which we want to help address. Pray that we can be a help and blessing and see fellowship restored among the leaders in the church.
Thanks so much for being a part of our team. You are very much appreciated.
God Bless,
Ed & Jeanne
We have a special message from the folks in “Lone Rock” they wish to share with you. This outreach has been going on now for about 2 years with several believers. They share this recent message with you.
“Our Church in Lone Rock would like to thank all of you for your prayers as we have been studying God’s word. All this would be impossible without the help and prayers of our brothers and sisters in faith. We have gone through many challenges but because of the Lord we have been able to go through those challenges together with Him.”
