Dear family and friends,

Greetings to you from warm and sunny Florida! Summer is here. I know that this sounds like a comment by a teacher. You are right! Teachers enjoy having a bit of time out of the classroom during the summer break.

I am finding that I have plenty of things to keep me busy!

I have taken on booking and cleaning guest rooms for the staff lady here who usually takes care of this responsibility. We presently have 3 – two bedroom apartments and a single guestroom that are available for folks who are visiting the staff and residents here at NTM Homes. I have only been doing this for a few days and am finding that I never know when the phone will ring or someone will stop me when I am out and about the property here. As long as things get written down in the reservation book, I am o.k.! I am thankful that we have these facilities available to us. Be sure to let us know if you are in the area and would like to stay for a night or more here. They really are nice facilities (and cheap).

I have been trying to attend our morning chapel services from 8:00 to 8:30 Monday through Friday, since I do not have to be at school at this time. Even though I receive a daily e-mail with the written prayer requests for our staff and residents, it is nice to hear the requests voiced in person. I always end up stopping to chat with different ones that I meet in the chapel or inside of the building. Our retired folks seem to enjoy just spending a few minutes here or there talking with anyone who will take the time to listen.

I have set up my classroom as I anticipate my next year of teaching at Lake Monroe Christian Academy. This coming year I will be adding another couple of classes to my schedule. I will be teaching math to first and second grade students. This will not be new for me. This next year will be my second year teaching history and geography to the 5th grade students. I will be adding a 15 minute time slot at the beginning of the day for prayer and a short Bible devotional time. This should be a good start to their school day. I will then move into our English class. I like how the text book is laid out. We will be studying a chapter of English grammar and then complete a series of writing assignments as we work through the writing process. We will continue through the textbook in this manner. I am looking forward to teaching this class and guiding my fifth grade students as they develop their writing skills. I will also be teaching a spelling class to the fifth graders. With having most of my teaching experience with the younger aged students, this will be a challenge for me. I do like any challenge that the Lord puts in front of me, so am anticipating walking with Him through the process.

Brad keeps busy in the finance office here at NTM Homes. The older retired resident who was helping out the grounds crew with some of the mowing has decided that it is time that he give this up. Brad filled in for this gentleman while he was traveling a year or so ago. Now Brad has taken on this responsibility on a more regular basis. Brad works in the office in the mornings paying bills, making phone calls, talking with residents about questions that they may have. Then after lunch Brad changes into his work clothes and heads out to do some “mowing.” He rides a tractor and pulls a bush hog along behind it. There is a 30 acre plot of ground that needs to be kept low for appearance sake.

Praise:

  • I, Wanda received my diploma from Hagerstown Community College in the mail. I decided not to attend the graduation ceremony on May 17th in the state of Maryland.
  • I started attending HCC in 1997 on our first Home Assignment from Papua New Guinea. I am SO glad to see the goal accomplished!

Please pray:

  • for Brad as he works with people and accounts
  • for Brad as he helps out the grounds crew with the mowing of the vacant 30 acre lot
  • for Wanda as she helps out with the guest room facilities for 3 weeks this summer
  • for Wanda as she starts planning her lessons for the fifth grade students for this coming school year
  • for Wanda as she learns to use an ipad mini over the summer
  • for Wanda as she considers different apps for this new Apple device

We appreciate you. As I look over the list of folks this letter is being sent out to, I marvel at God’s goodness in our lives. We have SO many friends around the world! We thank God for you!

By His grace,

Wanda (and Brad) Hull
