Greetings ministry partners,
It is hard to believe that July is already here. Jeanne and I trust that the summer has gotten off to a good start for you. We always enjoy this time of year and getting to tend to our flowers and small vegetable garden. Neither of us has a green thumb so nothing spectacular for sure :-).

We are continually excited about what is happening with the Wana people whom we serve. The new outreaches are really exciting. One of the new outreaches is at a village called “base of the hill”. Over 20 people are studying with us there and some are coming to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! The newest outreach is one located just 5 miles from the village of Lone Rock. We always refer to this village as “Kilo 8” as it is 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the coast.
A large number from this village realized that they were not really understanding the Scriptures they were being taught by another church group and have asked for us to teach them. The excitement in Wana these days has been palpable! A team of 6 of us have been working on drafts and lessons for the Old Testament. (5 Wana men and myself). It has been fun to work together and be able to draft these Scriptures into their language and then see the excitement as these Scriptures come to life for them.
Since our last letter we were able to complete the draft of Joshua and now working on 1 Kings. We already have stories and lessons for 1 & 2 Samuel but plan to return to those books and actually do drafts of them as well. We are currently making plans to hold the next Wana Bible conference in September at the village of “Lone Rock”. This will be the first time holding such a conference there. The new believers there have been anticipating this for some time and are really looking forward to it. We will continue our “inductive Bible Study” of the book of Joshua, and trust that it will be a big blessing to all who attend.
Some of what I will be involved in in the next couple of months is working on the study materials for this conference and also working together with the church leaders on the logistics of getting everyone there. We are anticipating a large turnout. It is hard to believe that my next trip is just two months away. As we look forward to this trip Jeanne and I will appreciate your prayers as we are trusting the Lord for $3000.00 to meet the needs for me to make this trip. As we look back over the past many years it has been amazing to see the different ways the Lord has always provided to make these trips possible.
Jeanne and I also want to take this opportunity to thank you so much for being a part of our ministry through your prayers. It is so exciting to see all the things happening in Wana and then to think that the Lord has invited all of us to participate with HIM in what HE is doing there. The Wana people also extend their heartfelt thank you for sending someone to share the gospel with them so they could have salvation that only exists through Jesus Christ.
God Bless, Ed & Jeanne Casteel
