Greetings!
We continue to appreciate your prayers for us and our team as we work with the Wana people – the existing Wana churches and the many outreaches we have going on. While in Asia Pacific, this last time, we were able to have a lot of time discussing strategy for our Wana churches and now have been following up on some of the plans we made.
Outreach and seeing churches planted in new areas has been a huge undertaking and Satan hasn’t been blind to any of it. The one outreach we started in the village of Watusongu is made up of a large number of people who came out of a cult. However not all of those people have elected to study the gospel with us and Satan has tried to use them to thwart the spread of the gospel in this village. Our church leaders have had their faith stretched but seeing that the same God who made a way for the Israelites to cross the Jordon river, and the same God who delivered the people of Jericho into their hands, is the same God who has also been able to bring victory in this village as well. It has been a blessing for me to be a part of this outreach and be a part of the teaching. There are a number of believers there now and just two Sundays ago we began teaching the book of Galatians to them. They are enjoying learning about their position in Christ.
This week we have a team of men who have gone to another outreach to the village of “Ue mPili” which means “Chosen Water”. They are in the process of building a “team house” that the evangelists can stay in while teaching there each week. You might remember this is the same village that we are working on getting a canoe built and ready to help with the transportation. The canoe is in its final stages and the motor has already been purchased so it shouldn’t be much longer and they can put their new canoe into the water. The people in this village have been very excited to hear the gospel and some of them have also put their trust in Christ.
It has been so neat to see how the gospel has been spreading amongst the Wana and now to see how the Wana churches are sending out their own missionaries. Just this month we sent another large group of students to our missionary training school, and a group of 7, who have been through our Bible college, going to attend a Christian nursing school so they in turn can return to the tribe and help in that capacity.
We also continue to work daily with a team of Wana men on Old Testament drafting and lessons – it is all so exciting to be a part of! And of course we appreciate your part too as you join in by praying for these wonderful people whom the Lord is greatly using. Thanks so much!

Geoff and I teaching in the outreach at Watusongu

We had one week of meetings with pastors from a number of our Wana Churches discussing church strategy

Geoff and I with some lifelong friends, “Pa Elin & Indo Elin” (the father and mother of Elin as we call them )

Boarding the canoe – headed for the Wana Bible Conference

We enjoyed the spray as it kept us cool – however our Wana friends felt very cold and all bundled up with hoodies😊

We had a total of 10 of us in the canoe plus the driver – so we were loaded!

Break-out groups at the Bible conference as we studied from the book of Joshua.
