Dear Friends & Supporters,
I am sorry this UPDATE is late in being sent. I had hoped to be in Papua New Guinea conducting in-services with those who will be helping me in the Literacy Outreach, but God’s timing is not mine. So, I wait until He sends it. I have talked with the missionary on station and the last time they went on furlough, it took them 7 months to get back in the country. They have been there for 13 years so you would think they would get in quicker, but they too had to wait.

If you haven’t given, there is still time to be a part of this wonderful Literacy Evangelism Mission Trip. The literacy ministry needs tables. I have made note of this need in the above box. I failed to include it in my original budget. If you can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
To prepare for this trip, I have completed an English as a Second Language (ESL) class, and a class in Adult Reading and Writing (ARW). Both classes are given by the SBC Home Missions Board. I have also completed an ESL online course on how to effectively train teachers in using the “Light of the World” Curriculum written by Literacy International and Evangelism. While I wait for my Visa, I will take an additional course on how to teach English to those who are English-speaking but unable to read and write. This course is also offered by Literacy Evangelism International.
I am asking you to prayerfully consider supporting this ministry as I follow God’s leading. If God burdens your heart to give, you can give by emailing me at Profnurse55@gmail.com, and I will send you my address to mail a check or give you online donation instructions.
Blessings,
Sharon Douglas
