Greetings all,

We want to thank each of you for your prayers for Geoff and me as we make plans for this next trip to Asia Pacific. We want you to know that the Lord has been graciously supplying for this trip and at this point, unless something unexpected comes up, we have sufficient funds to make this trip. I have been doing these trips regularly now for over 20 years, and it has been truly amazing how the Lord has supplied each time!

Some have asked me how we handle our funding for these trips – have I always received enough for each trip?, and what do I do if I receive more funds than I need for a particular trip? – both great questions! I have a special travel account set up in my bookkeeping system of which I use for all my trip expenses. So, if I end up with extra, then those funds stay in that account and will be applied to the next trip. If sometime in the future I need to cease making these trips, and if there are funds available in that account, then we will probably designate them to our Wana Team Translation account to be used to print Bibles or Bible lessons for the Wana people. It is always our desire to use designated funds as per the donor’s request.

Also, just a quick update on Bella. She and her parents are still at the church’s guest house in town, but they are hoping to be able to fly back to their village home on February 9. She is slowly gaining feeling on her left side, but not ‘there’ yet, so her parents will need to continue to be faithful with her physical therapy once they get back to the village. Thanks so much for praying for her and THANK YOU SO MUCH for being a part of our team as we labor together to expand the reach of the gospel in Asia Pacific. You are very much appreciated.

We also wanted to let you know where things are at in regard to getting the helicopter operational. As you know it was assembled in December at which point they were allowed to do a short hover. Since that time they have been working on getting it deregistered from the USA and re-registered in country. Praise the Lord that part is now finished. They have also received a “special” certificate of airworthiness which can be used to do test flights so that it can be completely checked out not only on the ground but in the air so they can get the permanent airworthiness certificate. Just yesterday they were granted permission to start doing the test flights. However, the inspector who was supposed to have come on Saturday to do the inspection has postponed his trip until the end of next week which was disappointing. Once the inspector has signed things off they we will send our own mission “check-out pilot” over to check out pilots our for the interior bush type flying and landings they will be doing. Our pilots are saying this has all turned into a mountain of hoops to jump through and are asking for prayer that things could be expedited. We are trusting the Lord that the helicopter will be fully operational by mid-March when Geoff and I and the Wana churches have MANY flights already scheduled. We all value your prayers that this could become a reality. Things are looking very tight at this point from a human standpoint, but we know that ALL things are possible with the Lord. Jeremiah 32:17 ‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! God Bless,

Ed n Jeanne Casteel
