We are pleased to introduce you to the TEN teachers who will now be teaching in TWO Hewa schools. Eight of them have already arrived in our remote village and have started teaching eager students, and two young men (pictured back row center) will be helping to re-start the government school that we had hosted in our original village location back in 2005. (Back row left to right are Thomas, Stanley, Pais, Naomi & Alison, and front row are Tomas’ wife Rebecca, Manu, his wife Hazel, Sinan, and Rosalyn). Please pray for these teachers as they teach academics as well as disciple the children to follow Jesus.
Before arriving to Yifki, Susan and I first provided a week-long in-service training course to help prepare them for the task ahead. We are pleased that they are not only willing to brave the conditions of living in a very remote location, but they have also embraced the concept of leading children in following Jesus.
Before classes began, the teachers first had the students perform tests to make sure they were placed in the proper grades. There are now 83 students attending Kindergarten through seventh grade.
