It has certainly been a wonderful year for us. We started teaching at Koropa in February and now we are teaching four or five believers through the book of Acts. We should be finished Acts by February next year.
This week has been encouraging with all of the regulars coming both days. It was the second lesson on Paul’s 1st missionary journey. I (David ) used a video that goes through the book of Acts to review what we had learned so far in Paul’s 1st journey. In his message in the synagogue at Antioch Paul said, “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.” I was able to use this passage to challenge them regarding what they were trusting in. We pray that the Holy Spirit will challenge the hearts of those who have not yet come to the point of salvation.
Last night they all came again so I used a map that I made up with Velcro stickers on it and pictures that stick on the right places on the map to review all that we have studied so far in Acts. I got them one by one to place a picture in the right place on the map then tell me what the picture was about. It worked well. We studied Paul’s ministry in Iconium and how the whole city was divided. To help them understand the situation there I reminded them of an incident that happened in the clan next door to them around the year 2000. The clan was divided and were fighting each other. People had to take sides and ended up fighting against their own family members. I also reminded them that in Noah’s time there were only two groups of people, those inside the ark and those outside. It is the same with us today. There are only two groups of people in God’s eyes, those who trust in Jesus and those who don’t. No fence sitters!
