Susan wrote these words about her father:

My sweet loving father, Charles King, passed away early this morning (July 30, 2024). What a privilege it has been for our family to walk beside dad this last year and assist him in this difficult journey. What a joy to see all my siblings and their spouses love on mom and dad and drop everything to give a hand in whatever was needed. Although our hearts are deeply saddened that dad is no longer with us, we rejoice knowing that he was surrounded by his loving family until his transition into the Lord’s presence. Please pray for my mom, Mary King, as she mourns the loss of her best friend and love.
Over the last week Susan’s family has gathered to remember Charlie and his godly legacy. He will be missed with much love and affection. Today, Mikenna and I (Jonathan) will board an airplane and head for Papua New Guinea so Mikenna can join her classmates to start her Junior year of high school, while Susan will stay a couple more weeks to assist her mother. We are deeply grateful for your love and prayers as we press forward in ministry for the Hewa tribal people of PNG.
Below is the letter we wrote last week
Thank you!!! July 29, 2024
Thank you so much for your love, prayers and gifts! We are deeply grateful for your partnership with us in reaching the Hewa tribal people with the love of Jesus. Thank you!

Our co-workers, Keith and Angie, were able to return to Hewa for a week last month! It was amazing to hear Keith and Angie’s report after they arrived back to the States. They were encouraged by the condition of the Hewa church and excited about how Faimpat and Ailam (pictured above with their daughters) have been faithfully leading an evangelistic outreach to a village across the mountains. Faimpat not only finished teaching the first two phases of Creation through Christ lessons we left with them, but he has also finished teaching through the entire book of Acts and is getting ready to tackle Romans! Please continue to pray for Faimpat, Ailam, and also the others who are assisting in the teaching. Some day we will all be able to rejoice together around the Lord’s throne for how he brought people to Himself from all over the Hewa Mountains.

In addition to Faimpat’s continuing outreach, another one of our church elders named Ken, and a faithful believer named Konef (pictured above), have started teaching the Creation through Christ lessons in the village we are currently ministering at. Back in January when I was in Hewa, Ken and the other Bible teachers told me they were praying about starting these lessons for all the new people in the village and for the many children who have grown up since the last time they were taught in 2013. Praise the Lord with us for these faithful teachers of the Word and please pray that new hearts will be touched and transformed into the image of Jesus.
As you may remember from our last letter, we continue to care for Susan’s father as he is nearing the time he will see Jesus face to face and we are eagerly anticipating the time we will be able to return to PNG to continue working with our Hewa tribal friends. Please pray for God’s perfect timing and pray we can accomplish much as we continue revising teaching lessons while here in the States.
Thank you for your love and prayers,
Jonathan, Susan & Mikenna
