Dear friends,
The summer has flown by, filled with activity, travel, and ministry.
A few ministry highlights:
- The five work teams did a tremendous amount of work to continue to improve our campus.
- Our first two summer classes (including one in Albuquerque, NM) saw a total of nine students.
- We have been orienting and preparing seven new staff (from such places as Hawaii, Germany, and Australia) for ministry here at the Indian Bible College.
- Lanora, one of our students and cell church members, led a six week long neighborhood “Kids Club” on our campus, reaching out to IBC’s neighborhood children.
This week is the annual staff retreat, where we depart for 4-5 days to study, pray, plan, and bond together as a staff team. This is a huge part of our preparations for the Fall semester. Please pray for us, as the 10 new staff that have come to IBC over the last 12 months have forced us to change the way we do teams, and my focus is changing from being the main team leader to training and empowering other staff (particularly the three Vice-Presidents) to lead staff teams of their own. The changes our staff is going through are both exciting and challenging.
Sarah had an emergency appendectomy at the end of June; she has recovered very well. Thank you to all of you who prayed for her. As we prepare for Fall, Sarah and I are trying to discern how to balance the homeschooling of the children, hosting a church plant in our house, and all the discipleship opportunities she has. Please pray for wisdom for us in this regard.
Please pray, too, for IBC Dean of Students (and Executive VP) Clint Ross and his teenage son Josh. Josh is really sick; they first thought is was the sometimes fatal Hantavirus but it turns out it is tick-born relapsing fever. Josh was transferred last night to Phoenix for care. Pray for wisdom for the doctors, comfort for Clint and his wife Anna, and for Josh’s complete healing.
Thank you for standing with us in prayer!
Jason
