Hi Family and Friends!
Well, the overseas adventure has begun once again! We began the adventure by getting bumped up to ‘premium economy’ on British Airways as we flew from Chicago to London! We sure enjoyed this nice little surprise and had our best recovery from jet lag EVER!! We spent the first few weeks exploring our new city, meeting with colleagues and looking for a place to live. God has provided a wonderful apartment for us in the center of the city! It is two blocks from the Danube River (which has bike and running trails along its banks!) as well as the newest mall in Bratislava, and is a 5 minute walk from the main bus station! We got the keys to the apartment today and will spend our first night there on the 1st! We do hope many of you come and see us at our new location! We are thankful that Ryan made it back from his trek through Asia and appreciate all you those who prayed fro him on his journey. He had an awesome time and is now in Florida visiting some of his good friends from High School and CBU. Bret has just finished his two summer school classes and enjoyed coaching at a boys’ Basketball camp for 3 days. He will join his brother and their friends in Florida for a week and they will return to Oklahoma together to stay with Trey’s parents until college (or an internship in Ryan’s case) begins.
Thank you for remembering us as we went to Greece for our Annual General Meeting for our European colleagues with IMB. There were over 850 of us on the island of Evia and it was wonderful to see one another and be encouraged in the Lord together!
Please be in prayer for the following:
- Opportunities to meet and befriend neighbors in our new community
- Ability to quickly receive our belongings from Croatia
- Slovaks to help us in our language learning as well as wisdom and discipline for Trey and me.
- Safe travels and wise choices for our sons as they are in Florida.
- God’s will as Ryan interviews for an internship in Zagreb, Croatia in the next week for this fall
As always, we miss each of you dearly, but are so thankful for your love, support and prayers on behalf of our family. We truly can’t follow in this path without knowing that you are for us!
