Dear praying friends,

Thank you for your prayers and concern. Thank you for your friendship and care. Tomorrow (Monday) we will meet with the “Palliative Team” re the next step in Doug’s care. We have been strongly encouraged to utilize Hospice Care, but at this point of time I plan on having Doug discharged to come back home.

They found Doug had a penicillin resistant ‘bug’ in his blood, which was treated for a couple of days. This time in hospital, Doug seems to be resting better, and I am so grateful for those who have been able to go and visit him, especially while I was at my niece’s wedding on Friday.

What a delightful celebration and it was great to be able to share with my sister’s family. Amanda wed an Irish fellow, and his family were able to come across from Ireland, so there was some healthy Irish brogue and lots of Irish music being enjoyed by all.

In closing I thought I would share a Helen Steiner Rice poem which was given to us, in a card recently.
“Just close your eyes, and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart….
Just yield yourself to the Father’s above,
And let Him hold you secure in His love.
For He hears each prayer, and answers each one,
When we pray in His name, “Thy will be done”-
And the burdens that seemed too heavy to bear
Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.”

Trust this little thought may be an encouragement to any who are working through their own struggles at this time. Knowing and RESTING in God’s love, His perfect timing and thankful for His grace and strength each moment of the day.

Because He lives…. We can face tomorrow…. Bev for Doug, too
