Dear friends,

Greetings from Canada! As you may remember, I returned home a few weeks ago to be with my family as my grandma was critically ill. I thought I’d be coming home for a funeral, but instead, the Lord has seen fit to prolong my grandma’s life. Although she is still very frail, she is out of the hospital and is able to back into her own bed in her nursing home. She has good days and bad days, but she is always cheerful and happy to see us. I am thankful for this time to spend here with family.

My time at home has been busy and I’ve been able to do all kinds of things. My co-worker Keri was able to come and visit for 10 days. It was so great to see her again. We had a fun weekend in the Rocky Mountains with my parents and then Keri and I went to see our other co-workers the Wright family in Saskatchewan. The weather was amazing and we had a nice road trip back and forth.

Shortly after Keri left, my mom became quite sick. She is currently having some tests done, so I have delayed my return to PNG for a couple of months until she is well and healthy again. I know she would appreciate your prayers.

The Mengen church continues to move ahead well, with God’s Word being taught in several different locations. We are amazed at how the Lord is opening doors and giving people a hunger for His Word. Currently we have 4 Bible teachers in a distant village, teaching the “Creation to Christ” lessons to a new group of people. Please pray for open hearts and that these 40+ people would come to a clear understanding God’s love for them.

Pray too for the Bible teachers Bruce, Kamilus, Vincent and Talex as they are teaching at least 8 lessons a week. Talex is a new Bible teacher who is just training into the work. Vincent is also new to the team, although he has been teaching in our home village for a couple of years now. Pray for unity for this team and that they would have wisdom in how to proceed in the days ahead. Many of the surrounding villages are asking for Bible teachers. One man Tony is particularly anxious to hear God’s Word. He has seen and heard of the changes in people’s lives and really is desperate for his family to have a chance to hear the Bible teaching also. A few months ago, Tony told one of our Bible teachers, “You have had God’s Word for more than 10 years now. If my family dies and goes to hell, it is your fault since you have not come and told us the truth!” Wow.

“The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few!!”

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support. I appreciate each and everyone of you so much. You are such a vital part of the Mengen team.

Pressing on,
