January 2024

Dear friends and family,

Thanks so much for your prayers on our behalf. We are so grateful for you as our prayer supporters.

There are several opportunities for prayer coming up in the next month:
  1. The Missions Committee meeting at our church.
  2. Our pastor, Earl Stephenson, will be retiring at the end of 2024 and church members will be voting on those whom they would want to be on the Pastor Search Committee. Ballots will be available from tomorrow to February 7th.
  3. A team of 11 young men and women from the church Kostol Nahrane in Revuca will be coming to FBC – Weatherford, OK on February 8th and staying until February 15th.
Please be in prayer for the following things in relation to these events and other people on our hearts:
  1. Ask that the Missions Committee would have God’s wisdom and discernment in preparing for the Slovak mission team to come. (re: host families, service activities, fellowship opportunities, etc.) Also, pray for guidance and direction as we consider other missions opportunities for FBC – Weatherford in 2024 and how to be involved.
  2. Pray that FBC church members would have God’s mind and heart as to who to recommend for the Pastor Search Committee. Ask that God would be preparing those who are asked to serve in this capacity to say ‘yes!’ Also, pray that God would be preparing the man that He wants to take the role of pastor at FBC and that He would make that clear to those serving on the Pastor Search Committee, FBC church members, and the new pastor.
  3. Ask that the men and women who are coming from Slovakia would remain healthy in the weeks leading up to their arrival in OK and while they are here. Pray that they would be prepared spiritually to serve, learn and grow in their relationship with the Lord.
  4. Please continue to pray for D., our Slovak friend. His health continues to deteriorate and is fighting for his life. He has already seen 4 doctors and will see 3 specialists in the next 1-2 weeks. The enemy is working overtime to discourage and destroy him. Ask that God would bring healing to every area of his life.
  5. There is a man in our church that has been suffering with his physical and mental health over the past 7 years. Ask that the doctors would be able to diagnose the problems and that this man would desire to get better and take the steps necessary for this to happen. Pray for God’s full and complete healing and that He would give strength, perseverance, and grace to his wife.
Thank you, once again, for interceding on behalf of those with whom we love and care for both in SK and OK.
Trey and Elise
