Dear family and friends,
Thank you so much for praying for our trip to the Hill Country of Texas to see our daughter in love and grands before taking off to Slovakia, and for our uneventful trip to Bratislava! Elise has done the best EVER with jet lag, while Trey is lagging a bit behind her. (Hee hee!) It’s a good thing, because we have hit the ground running!
We have already had many wonderful visits and amazing conversations with Baptist workers both in Slovakia and Hungary. We have also visited with many from the representative churches that we work with here in Bratislava – Connect and Faith Community. People have been very warm, friendly, and open with us and we are sure this is because of your prayers for us.
Due to these visits, we have many events coming up in the next week that we would like you to pray for with us. They are as follows:
- Men’s Connect (Connect Church) this evening, April 11th. Pray that two not yet believers, D. and L., would come and there would be some good gospel conversations with them.
- Women Connect (Bratislava Faith Community) on Saturday, April 13th. Ask that many would come and have hearts desirous of discussing and fulfilling the Great Commission in their lives.
- Trey will be preaching this Sunday, April 14th, at the Connect church. Ask for God to speak mightily through Him and that all who hear would desire to hear and obey.
- Trey and Elise will be traveling by train to Liptovsky Mikulas on Monday, April 15. We will meet with the leaders and core group of the church, Nadej, on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16-17, to encourage them and teach a seminar on prayer Wednesday evening. Pray for God to bless our time together and use us as His instruments for His glory. Ask for divine appointments as we travel there and back by train on April 15th and 18th.
- A grassroots Mom’s group will be starting online beginning Friday evening, April 19th. Pray that the moms would be prepared to discuss their struggles, victories, etc. and that all would be encouraged and strengthened in the role of motherhood as we meet. Ask for wisdom for Elise as she facilitates this group.
Please continue to pray for the five men of the Pastor Search Committee at First Baptist Church-Weatherford as they seek God’s man for our church due to Pastor Earl’s retirement at the end of 2024. Pray for great wisdom and unity as they have a monumental task to find the man God has prepared for this position.
Thanks so much for your interest in our lives and praying for us as we seek to honor the Lord in our retirement.
Trey and Elise
