March 2025 Ministry Update

Greetings from Arizona,

Thankfully for a few weeks this month we experienced “winter” resulting in about 33” of snow and 1” of rain so the Coconino National Forest has good moisture for now.

My sister and nieces came up from Phoenix to play in the snow and help me with some house projects. It was fun to see a painted kitchen, nice stack of firewood in my back porch and a hip snowman in the side yard, as a result. Thankful!

Indigenous Bible College (IBC) spring semester

We had a chapel recently that focused on our 16 part-time students, most of whom attend class online. However, there a few who live locally and join in person. We had several of the students join us in person for chapel and some others joined via Zoom. It was such a blessing for the full-time on campus students and staff to be introduced to them and to pray for them.

Please pray along with us for these requests from the part-time students:

Ministry Immersion Trip

The semester is now 2/3 finished and the students are heading on their annual Ministry Immersion Trip (MIT) and then a week of spring break. Pray for unity of spirit, mutual encouragement and inspiration while serving, as well as rest.

This year’s MIT will take place in Cortez, Colorado. The students will be serving at a ministry called the Christian Discipleship Center (CDC), which once staff and funding are in place will begin a new gap year (9-month) youth-focused discipleship program to train and equip a younger generation of Native believers and leaders.

While there, the IBC students will be a part of leading two church services (Sun & Wed) in the local area as well as projects at another church. At the CDC they’ll be doing a lot of serving by cleaning up the grounds and painting projects to help prepare for the center to reopen for the gap year program.
Please pray for IBC’s students and Student Life staff for their safety and the unity a trip like this can bring while serving together. Two students were not able to be a part due to family deaths. Pray for their comfort during this difficult season.

Personal

I’ve appreciated your prayers for my health over the last number of years. Recently I had normal kidney function labs after 3 years, which could be a result of the kidney surgery I had in mid-January to remove 3 stones. And I’ve had a bit more energy (less fatigue) due to finding out I have severe sleep apnea, so the CPAP and I have become nightly friends. I’m still hoping the cause of the hypercalcemia is found. Thank you and keep praying!

United with you for God’s Kingdom work,
