Smoke. Wind. Fire. Ahh, summer in Flagstaff before the monsoon rains kick in! Please pray with us that God would mercifully send the rains in His time and that we would be patient and grateful for whatever He sends!
Ebola. Emergencies. Extreme heat. Those from IBC who traveled overseas at the end of the semester experienced danger and hardship, but all have now returned safely. Thank you for praying. The IBC staff couple who ministered in Uganda at the end of the semester returned to the States just as Ebola was identified in Uganda and the DRC. There was also a drone attack in Israel while the two IBCers were working on an archeological dig there. The France team of 4 suffered through the beginnings of the heat wave that has now been linked to the deaths of 1,000 people. Thank God for His protection and for using these eight for His glory through a variety of ministry opportunities.
Remote ride. Relentless wind. Rejoicing! Last Sunday (the 28th) several of us from IBC traveled to a remote area in wind that wouldn’t quit to support our brother Aaron’s installation as the new pastor of his home church, Dził Ná’ odiłii. How exciting to witness Pastor Irvinson Jones (1999 IBC graduate) pass the baton to Aaron Betselie (2025 graduate)! Aaron’s plans never included being a pastor, but God called and he answered. Pray that Aaron would stand firm and shepherd the flock well. Pray that Irvinson will prosper spiritually and otherwise in his new ministry in Flagstaff as field director for Flagstaff Mission to the Navajos.
Provision. Pain. Patience. I am grateful for all those who provided for me in various ways after my pacemaker procedure on June 5th. Everything went well but I was surprised by how painful it was and by the length of the recovery process. I am progressing well and my heart is beating 60 beats per minute or higher 24 hours of the day. I just need to be patient!
Thank you so much for all your support through prayer and finances as God leads!
Gratefully,
Martha
