February 2024

We’re 6+ months & counting along the rollercoaster ride to clear the title for my sister’s house.  The 2nd lawyer’s tactics are in the wait-and-see stage.  Equally pressing – the DOG is still here.  Shelters are full.  No one is interested.

Update!!!! The dog has been adopted!!!!

Moving has become much more critical as Faith needs to get to Missouri ASAP and under a doctor’s care for her growing number of health issues.  Her latest are bouts of memory loss which traumatizes her further.  We’ve had one ER visit lately and are looking for a short-term PCP who will take her on (and her insurance!) for the remainder of her time in CA.

My niece Eva with her mental challenges has more or less checked out of helping and just zeros in on following stuff on her phone.  Her totes & boxes to move to MO probably already surpasses 500 with more of her stuff still to be hauled over from storage.  Where does it end???

On the flip side – we have seen God provide amazingly food-wise!  Faith goes to food pantries usually 3 times a week at the request (demand) of an unsaved friend.  The friend usually rejects 90% of the foods given out so guess who is also blessed!  Yep.  We are!  I take stock of the ingredients and then turn them into soup for supper. Besides the tried and true potato soup, chili, and vegetable soup, latest endeavors have included cauliflower soup, sweet potato soup, squash soup (PNG “pumpkin soup” recipe!!!), cauliflower brussels sprout soup, curried sweet potato soup, and – wait for it —  radish soup!  Care to come to supper???

Besides making soup there’s yard work to do.  It takes me 2 ½-3 hours to cut the whole backyard with a borrowed weed eater.  I haven’t started working out front yet as that “grass” probably needs pulled out rather than trimmed.  It’s the kind that Californians affectionately call “golden” during the dry months – some kind of tall brown stalks with barbs and burrs.  Beautifully green now, and growing like the weed it is!  And I get the exercise and Vitamin D to boot!

Quick recap of prayer needs:  please pray ………..

Again, my sincere and grateful thanks for standing together with us thru this era.  It will mark 40 weeks in CA for me the end of March.  I would SOOOOOOOO love to be back in Missouri by (BEFORE!!!) then!  Your prayers and words of encouragement mean so much.  As you pray, God hears and is at work!  May He soon bring it to an end to this wilderness era in ways that makes it obviously clear to all that HE did it!!!!

Because Christ came and is coming again, we have ………… HOPE !!!!

Hope Sharp
