August 2025

Dear Friends,

It has been a busy time for most of us. It seems like mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, canning, freezing, making jam, and doing translation work have occupied our time.

We’re glad to report that we are well and learning more about the aging process. We praise God for blessing us with a good marriage for fifty-nine years.

The Old Testament lesson book I’m translating should be finished within the next ten days. I’ve enjoyed learning new things from the lessons, but it takes me about six hours to complete each one. Pray for wisdom and endurance. I am currently on lesson 37 out of 43. After completing this project, I plan to continue writing my book. I’m ready to start on Chapter 23. Our son, Tom, and his youngest son, Wes, visited us for four days from Florida. Tom did a few
odd jobs for us, but he really needed a break from his stressful work schedule. Our eldest daughter, Lydia, will be visiting us in October.

We receive encouraging reports from various Bible teachers in Papua New Guinea. We are very pleased to see them using the books we translated and printed. Please pray for Mark Kenny, who will begin a three-month course in the capital city starting in the first week of August, covering Course One, volumes one and two, Course Two, and Course Three.

We want to thank all of you for your part in our ministry. It is reassuring to know that God has raised up a team to stand with us, and many Papua New Guineans will be eternally grateful for your involvement.

We’d love to hear from you and let you know if you’d like us to visit, provide an update on our ministry, or deliver an inspiring missionary challenge.

In Christ,
Jim and Kathy Tanner
