Greetings from Sanford! Diann and I trust that you are doing well in the month of March!
This morning I drove my friend Dion to the Greyhound bus station in Orlando. Our conversation during the drive touched on different topics with one subject being the years that Diann and I spent serving in a jungle area of Papua New Guinea ministering to the Mouk people. One aspect of our ministry included the managing of a clinic where amongst other diseases that we treated were the countless cases of malaria and a few of those cases were cerebral malaria. As a matter of fact one of our first patients was a small girl unconscious and convulsing with cerebral malaria. The Lord gave wisdom and we saw our little patient fully recover. We thank the Lord for those years in PNG! Also, praise God that He continually gives guidance to his children.
The Scriptures teach us to trust the Lord and He will direct our paths. Many of the applicants to the Associate Program believe the Lord is directing their paths and guiding them to a ministry which will cover one to four years of service. It has been busy at the Connection Center with emails, phone calls and recording data, which is all part and parcel of the associate program vetting process. Lord willing in a few weeks time we will have several newly approved associate members for the NTM summer pre-field orientation program. They will be going overseas to southeast Asia and to Papua New Guinea. Two couples will be serving in the states at the NTM Bible Institute in Wisconsin and one couple will be joining the Communications Department in Sanford. These servants come with a wide range of career experience in teaching, nursing and managing departments and they are an answer to prayer!
Diann will be going in for an arthroscopic procedure on her knee the first week in April. At times it has been causing her quite a bit of pain and an MRI revealed that there was a tear in the meniscus. If you remember please pray that the procedure would be successful and she would have a smooth recovery. It is good that we were able to move into a ground floor apartment last November! Our apartment is in the NTM Roberts building.
We will be celebrating our 41st anniversary the beginning of this week. Hard to believe that that many years have gone by since we were married in Elma, Washington. We Praise the Lord for all the years He has given us together!
It is with hearts overflowing that we say thanks to you who partner with us in finance and in prayer. If it weren’t for you we would not be able to serve with NTM in the team effort of reaching remote peoples with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thank you again for your partnership.
May you enjoy a wonderful spring with all of its freshness and beauty!
Together with you for Him,
Dave and Diann
